I don't see why monsters take damage from freeze thawing if we don't. So I suggest that we do. And the more freeze resist you have, the less damage you take from freeze.

Freeze resist would still be more detrimental than useful.
IIRC, what you described was a previous version of the status. Then when they buffed status effects, it would cause players to take damage upon the Freeze being broken prematurely. This is probably the most fair implementation for now.
Also, guns with splash seem to break others' Freeze.
Only if guns and bombs can break the freeze.
