Oooh. It comes down to these two for me. I'm wondering on whether I should get the Glacius or the Combuster. I really don't have a preference for defense or offense, so please post which one I should get, and please tell me why! THANKS!!! :D
Combuster or Glacius
I prefer more defensive status's, also combusted can't be used for FSC which is a drawback for many teir 3 knights...
Well, from what I see, ice can hold an enemy in place for you to retreat, or to get a good hit from behind, but does little damage. Fire does much damage, but does not slow the enemy whatsoever
Most people say that the extra damage is negligible, that an extra hit is not worth the loss of cc ability.
This is a frequently asked question. Please search the forums, for immediate answers to such questions. My answer is here (newly updated to give more detail on this issue).
By the way, Combuster does work in FSC; it just doesn't set things on fire. Even without the fire, it works as well against undead and constructs as Acheron does against slimes and gremlins.
Combuster actually has the potential to outdamage its sister swords in FSC (and anywhere else). This is because it has the exact same raw damage as any other Brandish, but the fire status does powerful DOT while forcing the target to ride all five explosions. It loses the fire advantage in FSC, but it still retains the ability to make enemies suffer the full blast; Voltedge and Glacius are more inconsistent and sometimes cause no knockback because of the properties of freeze and shock.
Voltedge allows you some sense of crowd control while inflicting AOE DOT (albeit weaker than fire). This can potentially be useful, but I see it as more of a "compromise" between the other two Brandishes. Shock is the best alternative to fire, if you want to use a status to damage enemies. Note: I advise you to not get this sword unless you have Krogmo Coin Boosters, because grinding up 300 coins is a very tedious task.
Glacius is arguably the safest sword here. With the charge, you can herd up a bunch of zombies and AOE freeze them. This will result in a tactic called "freezelocking". You basically freeze them while lining up your next shot; they can't dodge or counter you while they're frozen. If you do this, then zombies will die quickly. Be warned though: don't expect to use Glacius offensively. Freeze only damages the enemy after it thaws, and enemies usually never ride the full blast.
Because no one seems to be capable of giving straight answers anymore:
Glacius
The freeze is far more useful than a little extra damage here and there, beyond Ice Queen runs. By the end of the game, enemies come in larger numbers with less space to maneuver. In FSC and especially the Shadow Lairs, you run out space really quickly, and a quick freeze is sometimes all you need to slide out of a tight corner. The only time the extra damage from the Combuster maters is if it can kill an enemy instantly, but that's really only if you are solo.
Why were the other answers here not "straight"? Your answer is shorter and more emphatic, in that it picks one of the swords over the others. But none of these swords is significantly better than the others. Someone else is going to pipe in and say that Voltedge is the best, for exactly the same reasons that Traevelliath said Glacius is better. And someone else is going to pipe in saying that Combuster has the advantage of letting monsters ride the entire charge attack.

Combuster
The freeze is for more harmful to other users by making it difficult to bump your way out of dangerous situations. Freeze can completely lock you in a corner with the only way out swinging your sword and taking the brunt of the incoming attacks. Combuster also does significantly more damage in every stage fire themed or otherwise. This is because fire does not freeze enemies in place allowing them to get the full 5 explosions doing 150 damage each. Combuster allows the fire to kill off monsters when you can't kill them instantly, which always happens in groups (solo is the only place I can 3-hit combo a zombie in FSC, a group of 4 takes 6 swings or more). The only time the freeze matters from Glacious is.... never.
@bopp - combuster technically sets things on fire in FSC, just limited to trojans, wolvers and jellies (can't remember if slag guards burst into flames).
Combuster: Fire status, more upfront damage from riding the entire wave
Glacius: Freeze status, less damage due to freeze interrupting the explosion knockbacks. Great for keeping enemies in place for another charge.
This comes down to your preference and playstyle.
