I have a miracle cloak and is thinking to pair with my skolver cap. I use swords. I have a swiftstrike which i use alot. i was thinking chaos [because of the damage boost] or the divine [for all protection]. I use sword like the btb the GF and the voledge. I kinda use my umbra driver so

Which should i pick?

Grey feather, Divine or Chaos

Explain why too please

I suggest you go for Grey

I suggest you go for Grey feather.It offers elemental/normal defense and gives fire and shock resistance(the two toughest status effects to deal with in T3). I don't prefer Divine set because it does not offer any normal defense,and as a matter of fact,normal defense is quite prevalent even in T3.

If you pair it up with skolver then you will have piercing/elemental defense,resistance to freeze/fire/shock and weakness to stun(most knights walk it off!).

IMO chaos cloak doesn't even come close to being useful in most situations.The damage boost that it offers is too small an incentive for all the status weaknesses you will have to suffer.

Well, Grey Feather - A more

Well,
Grey Feather - A more basic Elemental/Normal armor with no boosts, but it does have resistance to fire and shock (2 of the more annoying statuses)
Divine - An Elemental/Shadow armor with no boosts, but it protects against fire, shock, and curse
Chaos - A Elemental/Normal armor (with less elemental than the other 2), with status weaknesses. It makes up for it though in terms of boosts (which you stated).
Since you seem to be a swordsman, Chaos would be a good choice, especially with its newest add-ons. However, it is slightly riskier from weakness to some statuses (which I can't find right now since the wiki isn't updated, and I can't go on Spiral Knights right now). If you would like a more comfortable armor with decent stats but no boosts, Grey Feather is the choice. Don't pick the Divine Mantle because it's damage protection is... unique. Monsters that deal Elemental damage and monsters that deal Shadow damage are almost never in the same area (unless you're doing something like The Gauntlet). The only time I would ever say to use divine would be as the helmet for its boost against fiends, which the armor lacks for now.

Or FSC!

Answer: none

Sorry if this disappoints you, but they all suck. Since you're talking about the armor piece and not the helm…

Chaos is very risky to use. It has a CTR medium and DMG medium for all weapons, but that comes with weaknesses to many status effects.

Divine Mantle doesn't have the DMG bonus vs fiend that the Divine Veil does. Also, it has no normal defense.

Grey Feather is mediocre. It offers good defense but has no offensive bonuses at all, and a general rule of Spiral Knights is that you should rely more on offense than defense.

None of them?Chaos Cloak

None of them?

Chaos Cloak only really benefits you if you use multiple weapon types. If you look at it this way, CTR Med and DMG med from chaos set are the equivalent of 6 elite trinket modules. No other set can come close to that. Chaos Set + Swiftstrike is like having 9 elite modules and 1 standard module. CTR low and DMG low for swords only can easily be outdone by getting Skolver/Snarby and a CTR Med Trinket.

If I wanted elemental defense I'd get a Vog Cub Coat. If I wanted shadow defense I'd craft a Snarbolax Coat. Then get the opposing trinket to get either ASI or DMG bonus. Also, I'd get a BTS over the swiftstrike for T3 play. I use the swiftstrike on occasion, but it really doesn't hold up. I've used it on FSC, but I wouldn't without being in a party.

@nordlead you forget that asi

@nordlead you forget that asi does crap all on bombs, so it would be 8 elite mods and 2 normal mods.

@Dukeplatypus - slight

@Dukeplatypus - slight counting error else I would have said 9 & 3. I meant 8 & 2. I didn't forget that ASI doesn't work on bombs, since I use bombs a lot.

@Derpules

Agreed. My default FSC set is Deadshot mixed with Divine.
