Step One: Remove Credit Card from wallet.
Step Two: Buy crystal energy with real money.
Step Three: Go to the Energy Depot Trade tab, and rampantly push on Buy Crowns.
Step Four: Go to the Market and admire how energy is now slightly cheaper.
Step Five: Use hard-earned crowns bought with energy to bid less than what people want for energy.
Step Six: When this does not work, go to forums and complain and try to rally mass movement of buying energy with money.

All mashing on the "buy crowns" button will do is reinforce the current high bids of the market. Instead, sell at the level you think CE should be sold at. Since I most commonly hear complaints about being over 3k, let's assume 3k is the target. So dig out your wallet, buy the highest value of CE (buying more at a time is most cost effective!) then sell it all at 3k. When people see the "last bought at" value drop to 3k, they'll start bidding that low again.
Then be at ease knowing you reset the economy for a day or two until the CE sellers jack it up again.
