It's a pretty solid set. I echo Demonicsothe's recommendation of a piercing weapon. It will totally change your view of fiends (and beasts).

If I'm reading Demonicsothe's response correctly, he advocates you get a bunch of armor too. For me, that is a lower priority than trying a variety of weapons. This game is more about offense than defense. Get more armor when you get bored with weapons, or when you realize that a particular monster type is beating you up.
