Who does the Prestige Missions exactly?

I am not talking about the basic "Do these 2 floors, get some Prestige." ones, I am talking about the turn in items ones. I am assuming Vanguard rank.

The material ones are: three 3* mats, one 4* mat, one 5* mat, OR a 3*, 4*, and 5* mat. They're simple, if you are 5* odds are you have 3-5* mats cluttering your inventory anyways so they're easy to turn in.

The mineral ones are likewise as easy... 20 of two different minerals. Again, if you are 5* you more then likely have more then enough gathered to deposit no matter what is asked.

Supply delivery asks for 1-2 Deluxe Supply Packs which cost 6,250cr each. Only obtainable from Vatel so the mission might as well say SK beggars fund. At low ranks where they want the ones that cost 1k each it's not bad, at higher ranks it is asking for almost 100 CE per pack. I don't know anybody personally that does these.

And the final one, the Arms Appropriation missions! From rank 4-6 these aren't too bad, they ask for a 2* item. At rank 10 you're going to be asked for 4* or 5* items. At the very cheapest a 5* item is going to cost you 700CE to craft (Crest of Almire), worse it had to be crafted up from 2* and effectively costed 1100CE... assuming you spent 100 Mist at every stage of crafting, or if you're really insane you could buy from the Supply Depot for 3500CE I guess. Sorry, may just be me (doubtful) but I am not blowing up a 5* item for 300 Prestige.

So... which does everybody do?

Mostly the item turn ins

I do the item turn in ones. But then again, I'm still in tier 2.5 (need moar 5* gear. I'll get there eventually.)

I'll do the mineral ones if it's crimsonite and dark matter. But other than that I have not enough minerals to do them regularly.

I've done the supply delivery. I do those if I have enough crowns on hand.

The arms appropriation ones? Once, I think I turned in my prized level 10 Firotech Alchemer because I didn't read the description completely. (I'll make a new one later.) But other than that, I never do those.

Material turn in ones.
I never seem to have the right minerals on hand to turn them in, I can't afford to buy supply packs on a regular basis, and I only completed the arms appropriation ones when it was asking for 1* and 2* items (Blaster, Heavy Hatchet). So yeah.

I only do the material ones,

I only do the material ones, but only if they aren't expensive either. I'm not spending 3kcr on a spark of life to turn it in. But, I'll happily turn in a royal core.

Chimin' in...

I have the Vanguard rank, and I try to do the missions that are "reasonable" to within my means.

Talking to my guildmates, we've discussed it a bit. I'm the only one among us (though we aren't a large guild) who actively tries to the the missions if I can.

On a mostly related note, how much prestige most players are accumulating is something that I'm very curious about. I'd love to see a graph or chart showing the average, or average per rank or anything of that sort. Partly I'd like to see to compare where I am on this, and partly just to get an unbiased idea of how many people spend the time to pursue a (so far) meaningless number and vague promise that it'll mean something later (NO OFFENSE intended towards OOO in the slightest - I see it as a challenge. :) )
I've been making a point of creeping on players around Haven who look like they know what they're doing (ie. 5* gear or expensive costume) and are likely to be high rank. I inspect them with the hope that full inspect is on to see how much prestige they have.
So far I've only seen two players over the 10K mark for prestige aside from myself (as of friday last week,) and this has been a huge surprise, as I figured I'd be closer to the middle of the pack for prestige. Of the two, one I'd never heard of and the other was a well known veteran player so I wasn't surprised there.
I've seen one player with over 13K prestige, so I can only surmise that some players MUST be turning in 4-5* items in order to have that much prestige.

Average for 5*, well equipped players seems to be about 6-8K prestige, which makes sense since the main missions should net you about 5-6K, I'd estimate. I haven't added them all up.
For lower ranked players most who are active and around 3-4* gear seem to have around 3-5K prestige.

-----

As pertains to the original question and myself, I'll get back on topic. :P

As a not-incredibly-rich player (meaning one who is still making/buying new gear to use) I do the ones that aren't extremely costly to do.
I have a (sort of) formula that I use. If it gives me less than 100 prestige per 5-5.5K crowns, I don't do it. It's not exact but it gives me a rough basis to work off of that I can afford, and keeps me from spending too much pursuing a number that (so far) doesn't mean anything.

Mats are a freebie, the most costly ones I've turned in have been for Plasma Cells, which are about the only non-token, non-SL mats I don't have in abundance. I've noticed that generally when it asks for a 5* mat or more, you get at least 100 prestige. Good deal in my books.

Obviously the Mineral ones are free. I don't deposit them any more unless I want to change a new gate coming up (which is less common, and much easier to do now.)

At my current rank it doesn't just ask for deluxe supply packs. I've been asked for a few standard ones at Vanguard. I turn those in, since it's just crowns.
If it's for two deluxe I won't do it unless it's over lets say 150 prestige. So far the most it has asked for it two deluxe for 180 prestige (I think.) Easier than the material ones, IMO.

The Arms Appropriation ones... I have been avoiding since it got past asking for 3* items. It's asked me for Acheron, a few other 4-5* items, and a version of the upgraded Haze Bomb for which I certainly am not going to play enough PVP to get the recipe to make in a day. I think it asked for the 4* one, but it may have been a Stagger Storm... I had kind of hoped that those items had been removed from the list with the Mod Calibrators and Static Flashes.
The only one that I've considered doing is yesterday it asked for a Shadow Driver, which is one of the only items past 3* that I have and NEVER use (since I have a Sentenza and a Nova Driver with Slime Very High :P) and for only 180 or 200 prestige I let that one expire without collecting. I think I'd sooner vendor the item for 10K or get the upgrade recipe just to HAVE an Umbra Driver.

Prestige Missions

Quick run down of the items I will turn in:

- Minerals if I have them (I usually do)
- I was doing Supply Packs, but have stopped now that it's 6250 crowns a pop, and sometimes require 2.
- Materials - if I have them, I usually will provide them. I won't buy any to complete the mission, but sometimes if I have an abundance of tokens, I'll trade with Brinks and turn in the mission.

Weapons...
- Weapons were fine to turn in when they were cheap, but now that they are asking for 5* items, I refuse to turn these in.

While I "get" that it might add to the storyline (the need for munitions and all that), I find the whole idea of "donating" 5* weapons very, very silly. I mean, where do these go? Do they simply disappear? Do they show up in treasure boxes somewhere? (Knowing exactly what happens to them probably wouldn't change my mind about turning them in, anyway.)

To be honest, Prestige points (as they stand now) just aren't worth enough to me to be so generous with items requiring a hefty CR/CE investment.

I turn in deluxe supply

I turn in deluxe supply packs. So now you know somebody.

I do not and will not turn in 5* arms or 4* arms or even 3* arms.

The rest I do. This morning I got asked for my 1 and only Spark of Life so I trundled over to Brinks and traded 20 forge sparks for a new one.

You people cried and moaned for crown and mat sinks and here they are so why are you not rejoicing?

The idea for some way to see how much prestige people have is spot on. It's called PRESTIGE but there's not much prestige to be had in a number that can only be viewed upon inspection. We need a prestige leader board that preferably shows maybe the top 50-100 and then also shows your rank and the 50 closest to you. As it is, prestige is this big mystery that makes me feel dumber by the day for participating. There's nothing much else to do in SK at this point so I do it on the hope that one day I will be justly rewarded for my prestige e-peen.

Ack, item turn-in missions.

I really don't care about the prestige missions, but I WILL do the material/mineral ones, since those never ask for much (Really, I have over 100 of all minerals in my inventory just sitting there, for no reason, same goes with the materials) Now, for the items...

I might not even have a full five star set of equip (Only armor and two weapons) but GOOD LORD, it's asking me for items I can't waste my time getting.

I don't even bother with the supply pack missions, they're a pure waste of my time and hard earned crowns.

Funny, I do every mission except Arms Appropiation (though i DID it one or two times with a Freezing Vaporizer and 3/2*) and my Prestige is 10k... and I went Vanguard as soon as missions where inserted/updated.

I think that even between users we get random prestige awards and we may get desynchronized sooner or later due to the randomness of the petitions. The only way this could be solved should be to change the "rewards to knights with X prestige" to "shop for prestige points".

I wonder when we will get more info about this. Maybe it is to give some life to the Supply Depot... xD

WELL--

I rarely even do diving Prestige Missions ever since my Elevator Pass ran out, but as for those /other/ prestige missions, I really only do the 'Monstrous Research' when it isn't asking for a 4k cr mat like a Plasma Cell (I seem to have the worst luck with these), and 'Geological Survey' ones.

I don't do 'Arms Appropriation' for obvious reasons; it's a waste of a weapon, as well as the Energy/CR used to obtain said weapon. You're giving a weapon you used your energy/CR to craft/buy to an invisible NPC, and well... invisible NPC's don't matter. Ontop of that, all it does is increase a number (Prestige); and this number, until given a use; is useless. It does not accomplish anything, all it does is say "I do missions. Wew."

As for the 'Supply Delivery' ones... Eh, I have to be in a good mood to drop about 100 Energy for invisible NPC's to increase my PURTY NUMBER. This WAS a potential crown sink, but until Prestige has an actual purpose, then there really is no incentive to do so. An ACTUAL incentive, not a vague 'reward' that may or may not come around for God knows how long. All it accomplishes is removing Energy/CR from circulation with no real outcome.

I don't do the item turn in ones (weapons or the packs), but I do all the others. I think I've missed out on half of the dailies due to laziness--or if they ask for a Primal Ore or something equally expensive--and the items thing. Until we find out what prestige actually does, I think my interest is going to wean to nothing soon.

I refuse to do supply packs

I refuse to do supply packs and weapon turn-ins - I'm not going to spend any nontrivial amount of cr, let alone CE, on completely meaningless(as of now) points that, at worst, I can work for more later if they ever do implement a purpose behind them.

I've been avoiding the Supply

I've been avoiding the Supply Packs and the Weapon turn-ins.

I actually would have done the supply packs, but recently I've been trying to save up my monies for certain accessories.

The weapon turn-ins are just too much to ask for. 2* and under wasn't bad, but when CE and tons of crowns start becoming needed(3*+), it started losing it's appeal. Not to mention the time and energy heat up the piece in order for it be crafted to the next level too. Too much work and resources.

I mostly do the material turn-ins currently, since like some others, I have plenty of materials to drop.

.

I do the mineral missions and material missions most of the time. I did the supply delivery missions when I was being asked for the compact supply pack. I never did the the ones asking for standard supply packs, and I definitely won't bother with the deluxe supply packs (which I'm being asked for now that I reached the vanguard rank). And I never do the missions asking to turn in a 4* or 5* weapon.

Its a simple concept

Idk if this makes sense but here goes:

Prestige = reputation = respect = popularity
More = More = More = More

Kinda explains itself.
And the fact that the prestige missions ask for 5* swords etc, as i told my guildmate earlier, means if you dont wanna, you tell it to f%@^ off.

Agazide's picture

The weapon prestige system,

The weapon prestige system, which requires 5* weapons to be turned in, seems to be designed in order to have knights buy from the Supply Depot.

These 5* weapons require a ton of heat, and each weapon mission lasts for only a day. Thus, unless you have a 5* premade, you're going to have to grind like crazy for the required heat, or buy one premade from the Supply Depot.
