Pure Bombing?

I finally got a friend to play avidly with me, so I figured I would try out pure bombing to try to support him a bit.

I've got the Spiral Demo set, and we did a run with me using a Crystal Bomb and Haze Bomb (Going to be Freezing, probably).

It went fairly well, but I was wondering if I could've used a Blast Bomb instead.

I know I'm supposed to look for Charge Time Reduction UV's in my bombs, so I'll do that when I have the money. Any additional tips would be awesome. Thanks.

Bomb tips

There are some good bomb tips over here.

You want a UV of Charge Time Reduction (CTR) Medium or higher because they will stack, here is how...
Bomb at Level 10 automatically gets CTR Medium
Add your UV CTR Medium
Wear Demo Helm and Demo Armor (together gives you CTR Medium)
...and the result will be CTR Maximum

Try the low level of the different bombs to see what you like. When I solo I like to use the Master Blast Bomb because it has a good radius and pushes enemies back, which lets me charge up the next bomb. In parties, throwing enemies around might not be a good idea since they can hit someone else - have to be very careful when using Master Blast in a party. Usually I'll pull out a something from the haze bomb line - freeze/fire/poison depending on the strata.

Even with 2-3 bombs, I'll still carry a sword that is fitting for the strata. I'll pull it out to finish off that lone enemy or to go after gun puppies in tight spots.

Blast, freeze, fire!

I don't like the crystal bomb. It misses too often. I guess I should practice more with it, but my blast bomb (now master blast bomb with +med damage to slime) doesn't miss.

I like the Blast Bomb series because the knockback is very useful when you're swarmed. It also has a decently short charge time and a good radius. If your friend gets used to you bombing with him, you'll learn to use the blast bombs to your advantage together. If you run through dungeons with people who aren't used to working with the blast bombs, though, it can add to the chaos.

In addition to the blast series, the freezing and firey vaporizers are great. The latter can do a ton of damage on its own and the former is great for crowd control. In a group of 4, your team will love it when you pull out the freeze bomb.

I love bombing, but I honestly prefer not to be a "pure" bomber. I bought the extra weapon slots and in addition to my bombs, I find a sword and gun very useful. The sword makes quick work of the last couple of bomb-damaged enemies and the gun is invaluable on some levels against gun puppies and retrodes.
