Hail driver! though only on

Hail driver! though only on the first body phase... You just use the charge attacks a bit to the right or left of him to clip splits, and its like guaranteed freeze for every charge attack and it deals a good amount of damage. Then you just spam the charged without moving your body or your mouse ever unless zombies spawn.

It's mainly just a first body phase thing, but you can get it to work on the second body phase with good timing.

Blitz...

Blitz... Hands down

Especially with the AP now doing pure elemental damage. The Polaris out DPS's the AP now on vana.

..not really but

The Polaris out DPS's the AP now on vana.

if and only if all your shots go in. AP's bullets are fast, so it has a higher chance to go through vana's protective fire.

..not really but

The polaris has an easier time due to the explosion mechanics to hit vana through his fireballs. I've always thought that the ap line was able to hit past fireballs the same way as forcefields, through some sort of glitching/hitbox/mechanic thing.

But polaris really does have an easier time to hit through vana. No need for those between the fireball aims.

Which is why I said supernova

Which is why I said supernova because it outdamages polaris on a neutral target (vanaduke)

But the utility of shock

But the utility of shock stopping charges is much better than the extra... 10? 20? damage. Not to mention, the occasional shots fired at slag backs can deal more damage. And polaris is much more effective throughout the entire fsc run pre-vana.

Ok, Here's how it is:

Blitz,
Only if you have ASI, other wise those slags WILL kill you.

AP,
Good for mobility, ASI can help keep you away from slags, or send you closer to that reload. A Solo weapon.

Polaris/Supernova,
Decent mobility, faster reload. Polaris offers shock that CAN (I stress this) stop the Vana charge. Supernova you actually want to hit slags with as they pass, it can knock them off course and save you quite a bit of Health.

Callahan/Iron slug,
Good for hit and run when you have a lot of heat on you, Slags, Vana, fire from the sky... But beware of the stun, he can ninja thwack you if you're not careful. Iron Slug is better on the mask, and doesn't stun... which might be good, I guess... (Y U SUCK SLUGGY?!?!?!)

That's ... really about it... I wouldn't suggest the alchemers, As they just don't have the stuff to make it to 4th stage.

RE: Supernova VS Polaris

Damage difference seems to be 80 per expanded bullet on vana

Supernova (stage 5) : 201 (damage max)
Polaris (stage 5) : 121 (damage max)

Did solo runs with each one, I found Polaris to be slightly easier, because of the shock stopping his charges on occasion. It's a nice bonus.

That being said, I also brought my blitz (ctr max) and treated Vana like a Trojan. Did most of my damage with Blitz.

I am doing just fine using blitz without any ASI. It's either you stay away as far as possible from zombies swarm or for fewer zombies flash your body on zombie's face that they will attack just like lumber behavior, avoid then release charge.

I'd sound like a broken tape

I'd sound like a broken tape recorder but Blitz would be the best gun for Vanaduke; a plain ol' heat 10 Blitz Needle. Nothing outperforms it in terms of damage output given a small window of opportunity. It doesn't need to have ASI or CTR to be effective (though it does help). It does require a bit more skill however than an AP or Pulsar line gun. I use both a Blitz and Polaris for Vanaduke; Blitz as main damage dealer and Polaris for kiting when low on health (solo).

It should be noted that anything short of a Blitz or Strike Needle can detrimental when the party is using the Shiver Blitz combo.

@Lishanglin

what a useless post. At least explain your flawed logic if you are going to bother typing.

My argument against the AP is as follows: the damage it does does not compare to the polaris without piercing, and the increase in mobility does not make it a viable choice against the Blitz needle. The blitz, without any damage trinkets and without using the charge attack does as much damage per bullet as the AP, while shooting 7 of them per clip. If you use the charge attack, a blitz bullet does 180 damage per bullet, for 15 hits.

The math is simple, ladies and gentlemen.
