I'm shocked at how many people don't know this. Please guys. When u are in nooby gear, sure sitting in the dirt and getting ur cheap armor all dusty is perfectly fine. But if u have 5* gear with sweet UV's, you CANNOT sit in the dirt and get it all dusty and messy. Sit in the grass, sit on the steps of the fountain, sit on jelly king, etc etc. but do NOT sit in the dirt. It's beneath (literally even).
1337's don't sit in the dirt
@tryingknight u are the exact type of poor soul i'm trying to save!
My Snarbolax armour creates an aura of shadow, it destroys any tiny bit of dirt it comes into contact with when ever I sit.
As any weathered, experienced knight of the Spiral Order would tell you, having pristine-looking gear is no more than a mark of shame. It is only those who are still new and enthralled at the prospect of having such wonderful gear that concern themselves over the state of their equipment. Indeed, many are the knights who consider such a statement an insult, and would gladly throw their shield down and challenge you to a duel for the offense. For armor is not there to look nice, but to act as the last line of defense between a knight and the jaws of a vicious Snarbolax, the paralyzing rays of giant gun puppies, or the flaming scepter of a fearsome lord.
To say that a knight has armor free of dust and grime is to say that the knight has not fought valiantly within the Clockworks, and to say that they are merely the dregs that hang behind the shields of others. No knight storms the ashen halls of the great Firestorm Citadel without the fiery soot suffusing the air clinging to their armor. No knight wades through the the knee-deep crowd of corpses before them without the slime of dissolved lichens trailing after them.
A knight with shiny clean armor has done none of those things. It is clear from the way they walk, from the way they carefully maneuver themselves away from anything that may sully their brand-new suits. But true Vanguards know that it is a futile cause, that it is only when lowly Recruits learn to let go of such petty details and set their sights on conquering the Clockworks that they can bring glory to the Spiral Order.
That's probably the best thing I have read in a while!
+1 to you good sir
But i like to keep damages to a minimal if i can help it.
I rather stand than sit =p
@Kupoo
Even greater is the knight who can do all those things unscathed and untarnished. Whose armour still shines like curdled moonlight. Coming out the other side of hell looking like you've been beaten like a rug is something worth merit; you're still alive after all. Coming out the other side untouched, however, makes you a legend.
Judging anything, such as a fellow knight, by appearance is foolish at best and tips your hand as to how much you still have to learn.
As for the topic:
Ponchos were made for getting dusty.
And bloody.
I'll wear my armor with pride, the cuts, scrapes, Dents, gaps, and rips... are my story of endurance, victory, and honor.
The blood, sweat and tears are my baptismal.
Dat sparkling clean ancient plate gear, blackened crest, and darkfang shield.
*Sits down in full Nameless and smokes his pipe in an abandoned Haven*
*puffs*
Also, seraphic mail, divine veil and dusky wings... Yeah, i'mma keep that shiny shiny.
Be that as it may, you can be sure that each and every legend has a battered and stained suit somewhere in their arsenal. As a wise man once said: "If you're not dying, you're not learning." There's always new challenges out there for those who look, as well as new armor to dirty up.
If you are concerned about getting a little bit of town dirt on your Skolver, can I trust you to be there in the thick of things when you need to be?
my mercurial demo suit is full of nitty gritty ._.
dirt
scratches
slime
blood
swarm residue
etc~
A good number of 5 star items come pre-....weathered.
good example is the grey owlite shield. full of scratches.
I don't think anyone should be sitting in me.
Imma nub, can I still sit in you? =D
@OP JK kinda leaves slime all over your armour, isn't Dirt better? I mean, sure you can eat the slime, but you can't cook it right? *nomnomnom @ above*
hmm... well if we had the ability of seeing said dirt in our armor, then i might begin to care. maybe.
@Dirt
Lol'd
Skourge-Nz's butt would be planted on the core already.
I'm no 1337, but my head is a bomb.
I can detonate it and start from scratch.
BAM! AND THE DIRT IS GONE!
My helmet smells kinda toasty from bein' set on fire so many times.
I could probably cook up some Wolver burgers with it!
i got wings, my wings blow the dust off, and as for those scratches? well i dont have any, im to good at this damn game :P
I dunno about Doc And Benji and co., but I'm still sat picking the Gremlin fur off of my shield, so sittin' in the dirt isn't much to me.
I think my name alone implies that I am not one for staying pristine...
I think my Heavenly Iron Armor has seen much better days, but then again, my Fractured Mask of Seerus used to be in much better condition.
TL;DR: I'll sit in the dirt as I please.
Let's see here. My vog's been : set on fire, frozen, blunted, covered with slime, electrecuted, exploded, slammed by a huge mace, bitten, turned into swiss chese by polypups and jellies, cursed... *gose down a long list of things*.. Its got me thro hell and high water, its blunted, has skorchmarks, even tho the wings on it help put out the fire faster, and its paint is barely there... So I think it can handle a little dirt.
As i said "DIRT MAKES A MAN, A MAN.
We need to get back to nature. DIRT IS GOOD. AII those peopIe in the army who sacrifice thier Iives... ARE MEN. AND THEY sIeep ON DIRT!!!
A person with a torn vog, a haIf shattered da and a rusted ap shows he is experienced as these weapons have been used vigorousIy and thier might has been proven. Pawn, you can keep you weapons on a show case and praise it forever. They wiII in the end be ...

My armour is so fabulous all the nearby dirt politely moves away to avoid mucking it up.
Yeah, sorry for catching you on fire so much Alpha.
Seriously though, my Blazebreak set has been set aflame so much, it's practically tempered, shiny, and sterile.
@Devil-Xtreme: That word is dumb y'know.
showed damage that your armor has taken and it had 1000 didgets they would all be 9s like this

Sometimes I just roll around in the dirt for one or several hours in Haven. Just to "freshen up".
I wear a kick-arse Fencing Jacket over my 4* armor so that it doesn't get scratched.
My Angelic Armors are impervious to stain, I'll sit, point and laugh where I please
