you are likely to be eaten by one.

but seriously, i'd like to ask the devs directly, is the snarbolax inspired by the grue in any way? it seems all timid to be out in the light, but vicious whenever it's hiding in the forest. reminds me of those adventure games.

for those who don't know, or

for those who don't know, or weren't around for text based adventure games, here's an excerpt from zork.

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
Further investigation will reveal more about their nature:
> what is a grue?
The grue is a sinister, lurking presence in the dark places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Not a Grue, but ...

When I was dragging a newcomer friend of mine through Gloaming Wildwoods (all he really wanted was the snowball achievement, but I insisted) he asked me what ________ was doing in this game. Next time I see him I'll ask what that blank was, because I can't remember.

The Grue you mentioned sounds

The Grue you mentioned sounds a lot more like a Grimalkins. The Snarbolax is more like like the Bandersnatch or Jabberwocki from Alice in Wonderland.

Jabberwocki

Gwen is right, the Snarb is obviously a reference to the Jabberwocki, the Twisted Snarble barb even comes with a reference with the sound it makes based on the description.

Definitely would like to see a Grue enemy in the game though. That would be hilarious. The Grimalkin makes good sense since it doesn't attack in the light, but it's not all that mysterious.
