So I found out that most top gunners in LD use Valiance/Umbra Driver as their main gun.. so my question is, which gun do they use more?? which is more reliable?? what would you bring to a pro guild vs guild match? I don't plan on getting a third weapon slot hence why i'm asking. (Polaris will claim my second slot)

Blueflood does it well. I pull it out when I want something different, but I can't do it like thisnameisinuse does.
Someone named jdjdfj or something (it was just a bunch of letters) tried using it, but not nearly as good as the other two...
The thing about it is that it's normal damage. If you had anything below vh damage, you're doing chip damage to most people compared to the umbra, which does more damage to people with no shadow damage. When you do have vh damage or above, the valiance does fine, but then an umbra will do more...
The redeeming factors of the valiance is the fact that it has that tiny knockback that can get so irritating to the person getting shot. It's also more forgiving being a 3-shot. It allows you to shoot 2 rapid shots in quick succession, then dash away to shoot another two shots.
Personally, I use an umbra instead (but I also have 4 slots...) But when I encounter someone with shadow damage, I will use something else. In your case, the polaris would work. Just be careful not to use a full 3 shot combo, accidentally reloading could mean death.
At the end of the day, whichever guns you decide to use, stick with them. It can seriously mess you up if you keep switching between guns because you never fully learn one gun's style. The valiance has a higher learning curve to really excel in my opinion than the umbra. I have been in some games with thisnameisinuse where the valiance just isn't effective enough, you'd have to have his tenacity to stick through with using it to really get good at it.
Also, ASI would probably affect your choice a little too... If it's low or med, I'd say go with the umbra, the valiance with minimal asi will not work at all.

Does Asi med affect alchemers that much for LD?? Wouldn't Umbra Driver CTR Med be better for LD?? What if your playing Striker gunner?? Would CTR be completely useless??

ASI affects everything in LD, including alchemers, but it's not as crucial imo. But a gunner w/ asi vs one without and the same weapon will probably have an advantage, everything else being equal.
CTR is situational, you can't fight 1v1 with charges only. But, it is useful for support, so, no, it's is not completely useless.
Valiance? I'm pretty sure the only person I have seen using that in LD is Thisnameisinuse.
