Yup it's a hell of a lot

Yup it's a hell of a lot cheaper to craft your own gear but a hell of alot more work too. The reason being is the the unbind cost of 5 star gear is pretty astronomical compared to the crafting cost. If you can fit a Blitz Needle or shivermist buster into your budget your FSC buddies will love you.

Yep :3

Yeah I actually just got word from a friend I met not too long ago he would supply all mats for free, I think I'll just take the grueling task of crafting it all :|.

grueling task?

The point of the game is not to jump to the best equipment instantly. It's to work toward it slowly, and experience a sense of progress. Except for the progress that you yourself make in building up skill, progress in equipment is the only progress we make in this game. For some people, progress is so important that they get bored and quit once they stop progressing. So don't try to shortcut it?

I don't see where you're getting this number. Crafting a 2 star item, and then upgrading it to 5-star, takes a grand total of 1450 energy. See here for detailed information and advice.

"(Made from buying T3, and alchemizing to T5)"

FYI, there are only 3 tiers. You are referring to their star levels. 1* is for tier 1, 2* and 3* for tier 2, and 4* and 5* for tier 3.

If you are P2P, or are willing to pay about $5, you can set up 2 alternate accounts for crafting 2* and 3* stuff for yourself or for selling, or even set up a 2* alt for making Basil runs in tier 2, which can give 3* and 4* recipes not available in the Hall of Heroes, like recipes for boss token weapons or 3* recipes for use by alts.

Crafting is the way to go

When crafting, once you get your 3 star gear, you need to level up the gear before moving on to 4 and then 5 star.
So while you're leveling up the gear in the clockworks, you're also earning money which can then be put towards
the CE and materials needed. And of course crafting also gives you the chance of a UV.
Crafting is more affordable
Imo it's more rewarding
