same price as 5* unbind.
or make it star specific. whatever. But we all know, and understand positively, that OOO needs to make money. (weather packages, ce sinks, or crown sinks. and this is a good one).

For the cost of unbind, let us degrade a weapon to whatever star level!! (punch, vise, and knockout?). Thus a vh undead night blade, or a vh shock vog could be degraded for unbind. then they could be upgrated for a better item. yet another ce/crowns sink that would BE DOING US A FAVOR!!! a player service, and an awesome feature. MAKE IT HAPPEN.

*whether, not "weather" Also,

*whether, not "weather"
Also, I don't really like this idea, as there is no great reason to degrade a piece of gear.
1) To sell? No, people buy more for higher gear
2) To use? You already upgraded it... just why?
3) To turn in for the prestige missions? Maybe, but not many people do it anyway from what I've seen
4) To make as a costume? Again, maybe, but whoever upgraded it should've been more careful.
People have to deal with the decisions they make when they upgrade.

You have Vog.
You randomly roll a fire max. That thing would look prettier on snarby cap.....

You make a silversix and get slime VH.
Rollback now and turn it into a blackhawk.

@Greenjuances It takes away

@Greenjuances It takes away an aspect to the game. Why should you undo what you alchemized, if you already decided to do it and pay for it. It takes away a bit of the luck of the game. If you have a Vog with a shadow medium, wouldn't you rather have made it Snarby? You should've, but you already decided to make it Vog instead. However, if you roll a good UV for a Snarby armor, then just re-roll and get something good for the Vog. To make a demotion available for gear isn't really something important, in my opinion, for now. There are other problems, such as balancing certain gear and adding to other mechanics of the game.

More ce is used forcing you to reroll said UV on a different item. You think OOO will really do this, with that considered?

'Sides, this is a suggestion.

I get the feeling that

I get the feeling that someone is upset about a particular double-UV they rolled on Vog armor, when they should have rolled on Wolver like I hypothetically suggested after they potentially rolled this possible UV and theoretically showed it to me.

I think this would be a great idea.

If it were really true that every design feature that "forces" you to spend more CE or cr meant less revenue for OOO, unbind would cost even more than it does now, rolling would cost even more, and so on. The reality is that OOO tries to strike a balance.

Yeah, allowing gear degrading will *slightly* increase the supply of good UVs in the market, but it's not obvious that this would lead to lower player expenditure overall. For one thing, players would now be more likely to roll UVs on 5* gear. And if/when they do get lucky, but with an inappropriate UV, guess what? They still have to pay the extra 4k CE to degrade it. And then the extra CE to re-upgrade it. Or, possibly, the extra CE to unbind it and sell it to someone else (who then has to reupgrade it him/herself).

True, some players might well have spent that extra CE/cr on more rolls if they hadn't been able to degrade the gear. But others might well have stopped rolling altogether. 4k CE would pay for about 13 single rolls. Personally, as a small-time roller, I would not be likely to make another 13 rolls after an event like that, at least for a while. But would I pay 4k CE to degrade an otherwise great UV? Hell yeah. The equation isn't as simple as you make it out to be, Pokenuevo.
