[Sold] Gunslinger Sash with Max Elemental Def.

[f/o = 7.5k ce]
The sash went to middle-man, at an offer of 7500 crystal energy.

Reflection:
This was a strange experience. I take it not all sales go like this.
I guess it was worth it, though I'm still a little confused from the whirlwind on the last day.
I feel bad about selling it, mostly because the part with Repair hasn't had closure.

well. it ends when you want it to end. personally, for mid-level gear or things that aren't wanted by everyone, I'll advertise a few days and then start a 3-4 day auction. for higher end items, I like to leave myself a little more than 3 days.

there's also the option (more when you have several pieces of gear to sell) of having things up for sale with buyouts, and just waiting to accumulate offers. if you start an auction, be willing to sell for lower than you might want, or raise your starting offer.

Maintanence Downtime

I got stuck at the Maintenance Downtime page for a couple days,
I really thought that they were doing maintenance for a couple days...
Though, after a while I got suspicious and decided to look it up.
I found in a forum how to get past the page, so here I am.

Before you sell

you should convert it into a timed auction. Basically, if it doesn't look like anyone's going to bid higher (I probably won't, sorry), announce that you'll be ending the auction and selling the item in X [hours'/days'] time. You might attract some people who are interested, but didn't think they'd get it and don't want to pay the the B/O. Edit your topic title to match. (And, of course, end when you say you're going to end.)

May not be necessary since this has been up a while.

Just start it on a 4-day timer now and you should be fine. Make sure it ends at a time when the forum is fairly busy, and when you'll be online yourself.

Its a long way down...

Oh cool, my first free bump! :D

It was a huge surprise when i crafted the sash, I never dreamed of finding myself with a Max UV!
(They are rare, aren't they?)
Though, soon after I was introduced to the problem of choosing between an awesome armor or a whole set of average equipment...
I think i reasoned that selling it would be a good head start to try switching into being a bomber.

Another bump.

You can usually get two highs (plus change) for the price of one max, so it's not a bad idea at all. A high is 3/4 as good, after all. If you can get something like med + med (or med + low + low, etc.) in relevant UVs, even better.

And yeah, Maxes are rare--I think the chance is something like 4% per UV you get (so if you're crafting, that's a 0.4% chance of any max). (That figure may be wrong.) Then take into account the chance of it being a crap UV like poison. You got pretty lucky indeed. Generally, crafting 3*s in the hope of getting UVs is a loss-making enterprise.

Doing math on the way...

I think the math for getting 7000 CE comes out to being a month of around 45 Vana runs,
if you include selling ancient armor pieces as well as assume you beat Vana every time and that energy prices stay the same.
Two Vana runs a day for a month is a lot of spiral knights... >.<

The last 24 hours have begun counting down.
I wonder how things will pan out...
