When i hoover above someones character in clockworks before his name a little 'shield alike' symbol shows.
But it dont show always. I have it next to my nick, i saw it above my guildie but two other guldies dont have it?
What is purpose of this silent feature made with recent update and not listed as a change?
Yes it's prestige. At least that's how files are named.

I made pics to have proof of what happened (since after last reboots, those marks have dissapeared without explanation, just as they appeared out of nowhere).

Yeah, it seems its really prestige related, they turned it on like by mistake and quickly turned it off since i didnt saw single thing again after series of reboots.
Well, if that is what they are going to give us with prestige points, I can't help but laugh. The only problem is that I may also be "marked" with that shield... a dev answer would help clarify this issue.
Are you and Mariogamer officers in your guild? It could be guild-related, too, if you are.
(Just thinking of other possibilities, prestige is probably the reason)
Both Icegill and Mariogamer were veterans, just like me so i dont think its guild related since one of those persons were marked with 'shield symbol' while the other one was not.
When they log in im gonna check how much prestige they have and their rank so we will see if its prestige related.
Wow, so actually this 'shield alike symbol' was in fact the prestige reward, or kind of annoucment of it, that got introduced with todays patch.
So it seems that week ago it have leaked out with anniversary update and got quickly removed with one of afterpatch.
It seems like the symbol is actually related to your rank. I've inspected players with the symbols and players without symbols. Every time, players with the symbol are Vanguards, while players without the shield were not.
Nothing to do with rank. Prestige rewards are rewards for your prestige amount (a bit obvious, no?). The reason all vanguards have one is because you get over 5k prestige from the rank missions alone.
Probably linked to prestige. Might have to do with full inspect as well.
