Hi guys! I seem to be having trouble fighting Lumbers and Gun puppies, and these monsters both deal Elemental damage, so i think i need Elemental protection.

My current loadout:
Avenger
Nightblade
Bristling Buckler
Dusker Coat
Wolver Cap

Any advice would be appreciated! :D

sorry to waste your time but

elemental armor isn't going to save you if you have trouble fighting Lumbers

sadly true

Metagenic's post may appear rude, but I have to admit that it's right. You need to work on your skill. Probably you are still in a Tier-1 mindset, where you run at the monsters and attack them as fast as possible. You need to work toward a Tier-3 mindset, where you carefully maneuver and dodge, until just the right moment to attack. In particular, lumbers have a very long windup, that you should be able to learn, watch, and exploit.

Right now you have 2- and 3-star armor. When you reach 5-star, you'll have the option of getting Vog Cub Coat/Cap, which is elemental sworder armor. So you could hold off for that. Another idea is to get Grey Owlite Shield. A shield protects you only while they're activated (and unbroken), but it might help you survive better. Especially if you find that your current shield is getting broken a lot.

It sounds like you are going

It sounds like you are going swords... you should probably get an elemental gun as a sidearm. Swordies often go with the Polaris for its turret-busting abilities, since it is strong versus 2 types of turrets and normal against the third and its ability to lockdown a turret with knockback and shock. It's also strong versus lumbers since they are constructs.

Also, for lumbers, easiest way to get them with a sword is to either let them try to hit and dodge or keep circling them while you charge your sword, then release it when the lumber has just struck or has its back to you.

You can also use the ranged charge of your Avenger from a distance on either puppies or lumbers.

You know what you need in

You know what you need in order to fight lumbers? A gun.

Well, for one at a time, you can run circles around them until they swing and miss, and then get several swipes in. For two lumbers at a time, this can be made to work, but it's a lot trickier, as you need both lumbers to be recharging before it's safe to attack. For three or more, a bomb can be made to work, but a gun is much easier. A sword is suicide.

Guns are the best option again lumbers and gun puppies. Get the alchemer series except shadow tech. Or if you spammed JK enough get the Antigua and upgrade it into a silver six. The choice is yours.

^ post #4 Alchemers do more

^ post #4 Alchemers do more dps I think, but since you would be using swords mostly, dps on your gun is less important than filling the niche for what swords are not as good for.

Polaris line has a lot of utility. You can spam it in a bind to give yourself some breathing room, and as stated above it just makes turrets easy as pie. But, and this is a BIG BUT, be mindful of how you use the polaris in a party with others! That knockback is really irritating to others trying to land hits, and the graphical animation for the explosion is large and annoying.

Please Polaris responsibly.

If you really can't handle lumbers

and you don't have a gun, just use the Avenger charge from a safe distance. Not very efficient, but better than dying.

Slicing and dicing Lumbers

I've learned how to kill lumbers with a sword, and trust me, it's not suicidal. On the contrary, it's crazy fun! You dance around them, going to their backs and hitting them twice, then doing it again while they try to face you. Maybe taunt them to hit you, and sidestep as soon as you see the flash before making them pay for their stupidity with two full combos to the face. It's tons of fun, I'm telling you. It's even more fun with two lumbers! Practice makes perfect.
