If I want to level my current gear to 5 star, I have 358,860 crowns to go, that is, if OOO does not give us a sweet deal on CE! Real money prices for CE seems high to me.

How much has everyone spent on their loadouts? Throw me some numbers! Maybe we can come up with an average price paid per paying player.

If you are F2P and have 5 star equipment, let us know how long it took to get it!

I think you should at least

I think you should at least tell us just what it is you're crafting so we know where you got that number from.

It took me four months from

It took me four months from the day I started to get the Stellar Set achievement.

I never spend a dime.

BTW every single 5* item should cost the same, except for token rewards and lines that start late like gunslinger gear.

5 star gear...

Here is the break down on what it costs;

5 star Recipe: AT LEAST 25,000 each - 5 recipes are needed (I have no additional weapon slots) -- 125,000 crowns. Still with me?

Crafting cost of 5 star gear: 800 CE per item - 5 items will be crafted -- 4000 CE, OR giving 6400 (lowball figure) crowns per 100 CE makes 256,000 crowns. Hang in there, I'm almost done.

I have 3, 4 star items, and have purchased the recipes for 2 more. Crafting those 2 to 4 star will require 400 CE per item, that's 800 CE. I could actually knock off a few crowns if I craft 1 item per day and use my mist, which I might do. That brings us to 51,200 to craft into full 4 star gear.

I have 73,430 crowns in the bank. 125,000 + 256,000 + 51,200 - 73,340 = 358,860

It does not matter WHAT I am crafting. All 5 star gear will cost that much or more. Especially if CE prices go up.

Any other questions?

@ Batabii

Indeed, as I stated in my last post "I could actually knock off a few crowns if I craft 1 item per day and use my mist, which I might do."

The only problem with using mist is not playing on the days you craft.

How many 5 star items do you have at this point? Any particular method for acquiring your crowns?

I spent $6 and I have 24 5*

I spent $6 and I have 24 5* items and 1 4* item (including 3 5* trinkets and 1 4* trinket). I've been playing since Oct 2011 and I've given well over 4kce to my brother so all $6 basically went to him (since it was 2kce + 4 weeks elevator pass).

I acquire crowns with all of the typical methods. Selling good UV crafts, recipes, and materials, running FSC, and so forth.

FYI: It costs ~141kcr for each 5* item built starting from crafting a 2* item (at current market prices for CE, not including material costs).

@batabii - only if you either don't play that day or have an elevator pass.

Impressive!

@ Nordlead: Thanks for sharing, that is quite impressive! I like what you have done. Not only have you supported the company, by spending real money in game, but you have done well since then. I have also spent a few bucks, an elevator pass (expired) and the expansion, and it's worth it. But as soon as the total price of game-play approaches the $20 mark, I don't think I will be spending any more.

It sounds like I need to become more active in buying and selling... even if I mess it up, it's only a game.

@ Canozo-Alt: That's what I'm doing, and it's a lot of fun. Depressing to think about how much time it will take, but fun none the less.

The best advice I know for

The best advice I know for money-get if you're not quite ready for T3 or FSC yet is farming RJP and Strat 4 Arenas. Every 15 Jelly Gems, you can vendor one of the armor rewards for 3.5k if you already have the rewards you want.

Took me from about June or July 2011 (whenever SK was released on Steam) to I think January or February 2012 to get full Skolver, A DA, A CIV, and a BTS. All free, by the way. Once I have a source of income, I'll consider spending money on the game, but right now I can't afford it. I had everything but the BTS by December 2011 (I think. I don't remember exact dates for things like this), but I put off getting it for no apparent reason.
