Can we get a toggle for arrows at our feet in the options menu? (not just for throwing objects)

Sometimes I get tired of using keyboard and mouse and I pick up my gamepad to play sk on. It is damn near impossible to shoot things when you can't tell precisely where you're aiming. having arrows at my feet when I have a gun out would be totally awesome :D

Just as a toggled thing tho. And without the still upper body hehe.

The point is using the cursor to aim or aiming one of the eight directions (north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west, northwest). If they added an arrow to identify where you are aiming then using guns would become easier.

When I take out my gun, i

When I take out my gun, i like to use the dpad to walk and the right side control stick to aim. It is VERY hard to aim accurately with that.

And what's wrong with making guns easier to use on some playstyles? Using the mouse makes it insanely easy to shoot accurately.

I've been wanting an option to disable cursor auto-hide for the benefit of people who don't use the mouse for aiming, but the arrow just implemented for pots and vials looks like it would work much better.

I see people like to thread-thump Admin posts to others' faces

so I'm going to picture-thump this to anyone who's willing to let themselves understand the situation.

@Siren:

Looks like a matter of perspective to me.

Given the view of the camera, that IS where the vial should be thrown. The arrows don't point in the same direction because one is coming from a different perspective. It's not like he's kicking it with his feet.

If you were looking from directly above your Knight (Seeing the top of his head), you probably would never notice a thing. It's all about perspective.

This game isn't exactly top-down to begin with.

Unless you are already aiming directly up or down, you'll still have to have the cursor at 45 degrees (say) to aim your attack 45 degrees.

By first logic we point our cursor at where the target is and expect all our shots to land there or head that direction, but what is actually going on is the real aim (as illustrated) follows the direction and shoots in that direction, which is not exactly where your cursor is.

Of course, there won't be a problem if you're fighting the mask stages at vana, but do you see why the camera angle changes?

I don't see what the issue is with your picture. when you aim your vials with the mouse, you're trying to line up the cursor with the heads of the enemies because that's where your mouse lines up. the arrows at the feet just need to be lined up with the feet of monsters to ensure a hit.

Deal with it

In case anyone is unaware, the cursor aims on the same plane as the head of your character during normal view angle. Vials and projectiles fire are on the same plane as your mid-body. Technically the cursor is not a point-click-hit aimer, but a directional reference where your character is the center. When using a mouse the cursor, when the common camera angle is in effect, is not a reliable point-click accuracy excluding 0 and 180 degrees where 0 degrees is straight north and 180 is straight south. All other directions may only aim by the cursor (hovering the cursor over the target and clicking) within approximate hit range of the target hit box or when the angle differences are accounted for; this benefits veteran players who are accustomed to it.

In other words, hovering your cursor over targets and clicking on them to aim is unreliable to encourage newer players to learn how to deal with the camera angle.

What you say

I thought it meant "turn and cough; deep breath".

I give this thread -100 for asking gun use to be easier than it already is.

Derp sandwiches

The amount of derp in this thread influenced my previous post. What I meant was assist gun use without messing up others.

Some swords are more difficult to use than some guns, it depends on how you use it.
