Looking at its recent buff, Bombastic would work well if it got a CTR UV/trinket or with Recon as it is the best gear for bomb DMG and ice themed levels(best for SL RJP), and Volcanic with CTR in Fire themed Levels(Best for Endgame FSC), so I was thinking:

A Volcanic/Bombastic Fusion!?

It could be Bb Helm+Vol Suit or Volc Helm+Bb Suit and this would either way give:

Med/Low(?) Freeze and Fire Resist.

Bomb CTR Med and Bomb DMG Med.

Is it a safer(albiet Weaker) alternative to the powerful mad bomber?

Does anyone own this set?

Does it have uses?

low damage alone is such a small bonus I wouldnt consider it really viable.

Remember that a faster charge = more bombs = more damage. The CTR of full volcanic could still output more DPS.

Hmm

Bombastic is now DMG med per piece. So your set would be:

normal, elemental defense
fire and freeze resistance (albeit weaker than two pieces that resist the same status)
CTR very high, DMG medium

now add an Elite Boom Module and Elite Bomb Focus Module and you're good to go
