Here's a story:
Today, friend asked for help reviving him in RJP. An invite and a PM with "plz". I went over to help him, made my way through while heating gear until we came across a treasure box with a Prismatech Alchemer Mk II. The drop went to me, and my "friend" immediately started begging and reasoning with me non-stop for the gun. According to him, he "needs it", while sporting full 5* gear with double UVs on some of them. At the end of the stage, he refused to get onto the elevator, especially after i had no choice but to tell him that the server is going to reboot, and I'm in a hurry, as he wasn't budging. Nope, he used the same lines over again, server rebooted, no heat and continued to beg after I logged on. He soon started swearing as much as he could, with rather shallow personal insults. Just last week, i was kicked immediately after helping another "friend" in GWW. I usually try to be as nice as possible, but sometimes it's kinda hard. It's not that I mind personal insults, or being kicked, or helping someone out, or losing earned heat, or being spammed, but with all these together, plus having another bad lag day is really testing my limits. It's mainly the thought that counts for me, which is why I feel so frustrated here. To make life a lot easier and happier, should I just ignore these requests completely? Block spammers? Unadd randoms? I don't mean to sound like whining, just not sure if it's worth doing these things that are costing my mood. :L
Gah......
If these people were really your friends, then they would have just accepted the fact that you were keeping the gun, or wouldn't have kicked you after helping them.
I'd just unfriend them before you do anything rash, if your at your limits as you say.
Feel free to add me as a friend, I won't do that sort of thing :P

Yeah, thanks guys, I guess the problem is it's hard to tell who's like that until they actually start. I've seen some very kind players though, so I'm kinda in conflict to give the benefit of which doubt. :/
Sounds like your "friend" has shown their true colors. I'd Unfriend and ignore them.
I understand that friends should go out of their way to accommodate each other, but there is a limit, and respect is a two way street. They care more about the stuff you got than treating you like a friend. No good can come of that relationship. It's best to end it.
-edit-
This is especially true when you consider that the argument is over a 3* weapon. Come on, I mean really?
He seemed awfully adamant about it, somehow. I can't say he was a true friend of mine either, I tend to accept friend requests especially if I've just done a run with them. Getting spammed and sworn at just didn't feel like a nice way of repaying someone's help. I'm mostly annoyed at his combined actions over everything else. The rest don't really matter for me, especially if you look at them individually.
Delete them.
I detest people that beg you for stuff and blackmail you, however mild/serious, especially if they're on your 'friends' list.
You think that people would have some respect for friends, even online ones, that help them out, but sadly, the internet follows no known social rules.
I've had a few peeps like that before. A friend of my friend who added me 'just because' a while ago asked me for help because he had died/ I helped him, then a friend of mine wanted to join, so he did. He ended up dying, just as we found the lift. I went back to revive him, but the PL (the first 'friend') told me to get on the lift (I get that he'd be revived with 3 health at the start of the next stage, but he wasn't all too far away, and...etc). After asking me ONCE, he threatened to kick me if I didn't get on the lift. My other friend told me not to worry about it, so I got on the lift, went up and unadded him without another word.
...
I don't mind people asking for something, but at least be polite about it, and respect their wishes if denied.
In any case, this is relevant: http://i3.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/170/886/welcome-to-the-...
Yet this IS the internet.
Block both spammers, un add randoms and ignore them.
