I run Fire Storm Citadel every day with Demonicsothe when he is online because we are both used to doing it. Occasionally in D25, there are a few rooms that I do wrong, and I know it but I have never figured out how to, so I figured I should ask the community.

Rocket-Puppy room- Every time I do this, I use an alchemer and spawn the lower zombies and then go the opposite way so I don't awaken the rocket puppy. I'm aware I should be doing this with a Pulsar, but I only have the 2* version =/ I'm wondering what the best way to do the rocket puppy room without dying is.

Trojan Room(top right)- Demonic says you can hit the ghost block without spawning the trojan. I assume with vials, but I never got the chance because the one time I did it, I tried shooting the block with a Silversix. The trojan spawned, so I'm wondering if I did it wrong or what the best way to do it is.

top right Trojan Room

As soon as you enter the room, start shooting with that Silversix and don't stop - I always use my Argent Peacemaker to hit the ghost block without spawning the Trojan. I think your issue is that you're already too close to it before you start shooting.

And if it does go wrong, run out. Antiguas can shoot through forcefields.

Rocket Puppy room: You can do this with no special equipment at all, quite easily.

  • Open the southwest blocks, briefly enter the south area, and retreat to the west area. This spawns the zombies. Kill the west zombies. Open the southwest blocks again, draw the south zombies into the west, and kill them.
  • Throw any vial (or shoot any gun) at the rocket puppy to aggro it. (If you don't have a vial or gun, you can do this by quickly entering the south area, drawing aggro with your body, and retreating to the west area. But this is much riskier.)
  • Leave the room through the barrier, hugging as close to the north side of the barrier as possible, and go somewhere else for a minute or so, until the rocket puppy drops aggro. If you do this correctly, the rocket puppy ends up sleeping, aimed toward the north end of the barrier.
  • Re-enter the room at the south end of the barrier. The rocket puppy should not wake. Work the room counterclockwise, never waking the rocket puppy until you exit with the sprite.

Trojan room (northeast): I have done this without waking the trojan, but I prefer to wake the trojan --- it kills everything else.

Hmm

In the Trojan room, a Blitz Needle has barely enough range to hit the ghost block without waking the Trojan. It might be difficult, if not impossible, to do so with an alchemer. The Antigua lines can hit the block easily though.

When I first started FSC, I would wake the Trojan and let it kill everything. But now prefer to not wake him, so I can take out the zombies/jellies myself. Using an Electron Vortex + Brandish charge in that room really speed it up nicely.

also a nice trick is to

also a nice trick is to collect 2 (or 3 when you realy want to be sure) shock vails :)

do the spawning trick (killing the west zombie and drawing in the south zombies to the west) here where it goes a diffrent way. (this trick can be use with polaris AND with the Voltech Alchemer as long as it shocks the zombies) just draw the north pack to the ghostblock on their side trow a shock vail (or try shocking them with the guns) thus make them hit the block for you (run trough as fast as you can, you might kill them if you take to long with the guns or you don't have enough vails)

the trojan room, don't run in to fast just shoot the blocks and slowly walk forward untill you can just hit the ghostblock and run back ;) (it's around the first row of blocks, past that the trojan spawns) but if he does spawn don't panic just stay behind the barrier and with some luck the exploding jelly will hurt/kill some and the trojan "fart" will also damage them ;) (this takes a while tough haha) just keep in mind the trojan swing won't hit you OUTSIDE the barrier so you can charge a shot and walk in and back out.

Top right Trojan room, I just

Top right Trojan room, I just wake up the Trojan. I drop 1-2 VTs on the way backing out, then walk back in with a FoV charge which eliminates most of the zombies. Then charge a second FoV for the Trojan while running around the room. If I don't have the health to use the FoV, then I'll just charge my Voltedge and unleash that a few times to soften up the zombies then go head in with my sword to finish them all off. You can always wait for the trojan to kill everything, but that is much slower than just spawning everything and killing everything yourself.

As for the rocket puppy room, I do it like Bopp suggested. It works great and is pretty dang fast. Even if you have a polaris or shock vials with you, it is good to learn so you can do it if you carry a different set of weapons or don't find shock vials that time.

The only problem is that most people will walk into the rocket puppy room, wake him up, and then leave. Leaving you to deal with 1-2 incoming rockets. If they only walk to the far side of the barrier, then you might have a barrage of rockets to deal with. So, just tell people to stay out.

With the right tricks, you can essentially friendly fire 90% of the level. You can even friendly fire the zombies at the end by kiting them into the Wheel room or moving the trojan from the SSE room to the middle =)

IMPOSSIBLE

If you can't hit that block WITH A GUN without waking the trojan you're doing something wrong here. I can hit it with a combuster charge and still stay out of range, and that's cutting it fairly close too. You really just have to know where the trigger is on the floor, that's all there is to it, just hit the block without going past that point, and you're perfectly safe to go wherever you want in that room after that.....provided you don't walk into the spawn trigger.....which *hint hint* doesn't expand across the room, it stops at the spikes on the sides, and is at the very tip away from the entry gate to the room, basically that single block or 2 just past the second row of rocks to break.

The rocket puppy has been answered to death, so I'll leave that one there.

If I'm bored I like to spawn the Trojan, back out of the room, and just /sit there as the Trojan kills everything for my amusement.

Pulsar will solve both of your problems
Rocket-Puppy room- Every time I do this, I use an alchemer and spawn the lower zombies and then go the opposite way so I don't awaken the rocket puppy. I'm aware I should be doing this with a Pulsar, but I only have the 2* version =/ I'm wondering what the best way to do the rocket puppy room without dying is.

There are two ways to do this room safely with pulsar line:

1. Counter-clockwise. Spawn slags, kill those in west and south sections. Enter south section but stop right next to the walls so the puppy is still sleeping. Spam pulsar line guns at puppy. Hit the puppy with expanded shots to keep interrupting it. It doesn't matter if its 2 star, it will interrupt just the same. Keep spamming until the puppy is dead, then quickly cross over to east section.

2. Clockwise, for Kilowatt and better only. Spawn slags, kill those in west and south sections. Remove the blocks in west section. Stand very close to the wall between west/south sections, and shoot the slags (aim between the north/west wall and the left-most block). Your aim is not to kill them, but inflict shock on them. Once one of them are shocked, run quickly to the N/W wall. With any luck the shocked slag will come close to the ghost block and open it for you. If not, repeat or go counter-clockwise.

You walked too deep into the room. The trojan does not appear until you get past the 2nd line of blocks. Pulsar line all have sufficient range to shoot the ghost block from there.

AP Charge for Rocket Puppy Room

I used to carry a polaris for fsc because of the rocket puppy room. But I wanted to stop using it because of the knockback. When I figured out how to do the rocket puppy room effectively without the polaris, I quickly converted.

For the rocket puppy room, an argent peacekeeper can work just as well as the Polaris method:

1) Spawn and kill west and south slags as stated in Bopp's post above.
2) Destroy all three blocks on the west side (just to ensure you don't catch any bullets on them.)
3) Charge your AP and shoot the rocket puppy. The final bullet on the charge will interrupt the rocket puppy just in time.
4) Shoot your AP normally, you should be able to kill the rocket puppy (I haven't tried this with no gun dmg bonus & 4 ppl in a party though)
5) Quickly head to the east side and continue on your merry way.

----
Also, as mentioned above, the AP has the range to take out the ghost block in the trojan room without spawning the trojan. The Trojan spawns when you get too close. Infact, I'm surprised people had problems with this....

How I handle those rooms:

Here's how I handle the rocket puppy room:

  1. Shoot the first ghost block.
  2. Run in south part of the room
  3. Try to spawn the zombies without waking up the rocket puppy. This should be easy now that they've narrowed the rocket puppy's vision. (You almost have to step in front of the rocket puppy to wake it up.)
  4. Run back to west part of the room before the first wall respawns
  5. Kill the zombies in the west part of the room. Again, be careful not to wake the rocket puppy
  6. Lure the zombies in the southern part of the room to the western part of the room by repeatedly hitting the wall that divides the western and southern parts of the room
  7. Kill those zombies. Now the western and southern parts of the rocket puppy room should be clear, but the eastern and northern parts of the room should still be infested with zombies.
  8. Destroy the stone blocks in the southern part of the room
  9. Shoot the wall that seperates the western and southern parts of the room and run into the southern part of the room
  10. Wake the rocket puppy.
  11. kill the rocket puppy. You should be able to do it by shooting at it while dodging at the same time. You will have to limit the amount of times you shoot at it, or else the rocket will catch up and you will get hit
  12. Shoot the next ghost block
  13. RUN to the eastern part of the room before the rocket puppy respawns
  14. Kill the zombies that are in the eastern and northern parts of the room as normal
  15. Repeat if a zombie from the eastern part of the room gets stuck in the southern part of the room

It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. It can be a real pain to kill the rocket puppy if you are in a group (due to it's increased health,) but it's not impossible.

Trojan room:

The trojan room is actually really easy. The key is not to step in the middle of the room. You can circle kite around the room, but do not step in the middle of the room. So, hit the ghost block at the end of the wall, then circle kite around the room. Time it so that you move between the two parts of the room when the spikes go down. Once all the enemies are dead, spawn the trojan and take it out.

-edit-

I did all this with a valiance. It has enough range to destroy the wall in the trojan room without spawning the Trojan.

Aggressive melee option for Trojan room

I tend not to use guns in FSC, so I've found the following way to handle the trojan room:

Break the far left and the far right blocks in the first and second set of stone blocks.
Activate the trojan. The trojan will activate the ghost block, but since you disconnected the middle stone blocks from the set, there should be 6 stone blocks remaining.
Fight everything besides the trojan. The trojan will stay caught on the stone blocks for a considerable amount of time, long enough for you to destroy everything else without much difficulty.

Of course there's also the "sit behind the barrier and watch the trojan smash everything" option, but that's boring :P

Incidentally, you can do the same thing to the sets of stone blocks between the red rovers in D27, which gives you extra firewalls (though to be honest, this is more of a leftover habit from when red rovers shot scary fast).

For the Rocket Puppy room,

For the Rocket Puppy room, since I'm playing as a bomber and pack a RSS with me into FSC, a teammate and I will clear out the west and south zombies first without waking the puppy, then I proceed to repeatedly RSS the puppy while my teammate runs over to the east side. With max ctr, you can keep the puppy staggered with each RSS (since each shard staggers it) until it dies, and by then my teammate is already at the east side killing the zombies there. After that I just run out to start on another room while he cleans up in that room.
