I am currently doing a few Royal slime runs with my guild members and i seem to die alot.
I am currently using:
-Nightblade
-Freezing Vaporizer
-Dusker cap
-Dusker coat
-Jelly Shield

i also have 532 CE and 3000cr

What changes should i make to my equiptment to become better at this and general combat with only the moneys that i have
If i dont have enough then please suggest some ways that i could make more.
Feel free to check my backpack also at http://steamcommunity.com/id/jarthur36/inventory/#99900

just bring your nightblade

just bring your nightblade and iceburst brandish and you should be good. all it takes is just some good shield cancelling and you'll be fine.

various notes

If you're using swords a lot, and you want a piercing shield, then you should get Barbarous Thorn Shield rather than the Jelly Shield line. The sword bonus is really valuable. The rest of your equipment is good, and I agree that you should upgrade it. The order doesn't matter much, but do the freeze bomb last; it's not doing much for you. Consider replacing it with either an elemental sword or an elemental gun, to help with the constructs and silkwings in RJP.

Be aware that equipment is weakened, when you use it at a depth that is shallower than the depth for which it was designed. The RJP is on Stratum 4, so 4- and 5-star equipment is weakened there. It's still stronger than 3-star equipment, but not as much as you might think. So upgrading is not going to solve your RJP problem.

You need to work on your skill. You may still be in a Tier-1 mindset, where you just run up to enemies and hit them until they die. You need to work toward a Tier-3 mindset, where you carefully dodge and shield, waiting for the perfect moment to attack. Play patiently. When you work through a multi-part room (such as RJP depth 16 northwest corner), don't just rush in and get surrounded. Back off, and pick off enemies with charge attacks. With equipment like yours, I have completed RJP depth 16, without suffering a single tick of damage, many times. You can do this too.

and another question.
Our guild does RJP Runs using the 5-2 Rank mission. is there an advantage by actually going to Stratum 4 and finding it yourself?

Owlite is great

The Owlite shield line is extremely popular and very good in general. In RJP, Owlite will help you survive gun puppy attacks. It will not help you much against attacks from jellies, because they do piercing damage, which will break Owlite pretty quickly. Still, this lineup should be great for RJP:
* Nightblade
* Iceburst Brandish
* Dusker Cap
* Dusker Coat
* Wise Owlite Shield
Use Nightblade on the jellies, charging a lot. Use the Iceburst on the lumbers, gun puppies, and silkwings. Upgrade them as fast as you can, and work on your patience/tactics/skill. Enjoy. :)

Edit: I haven't done a detailed analysis of the payoff from the mission version of RJP vs. the gate version. The mission version probably pays better per CE and per hour, because you get to skip depths 9-14 of the gate version. On the other hand, if you have friends you can join at depth 13, and if depth 14 is an arena, then the gate version can be very lucrative.

I prefer the thorn sheild, though.

It's going to break more often from the gunpuppies, but the key of that is to just block one attack and run as fast as you can behind it, then bludgeon it to pieces with your elemental brandish.

As for lumbers, it's going to be a one-use lifesaving ticket for the lower stars, though. For that, lure it to attack, run to the side, hit it from behind. (You can do this with a charge ready. You'll need a combo after unleashing your charge to kill it quick, though.)

All these for sword +low / +medium. I play aggressive in JK for quicker games.
So, depending on your playstyle you have to choose either survivability (owlite) or damage (thorn shield)

(2* thorn shield is 10 snarlbolax tokens from brinks, though. But I'd recommend that)

@OP: I'd say getting your shield would come first. If you don't intend to change your shield, I'd say upgrade your nightblade. Upgrading to 4*s require 400ce (or 300ce if you have 100 mist to burn). Constructs are neutral to shadow, so the nightblade upgrade will help that bit too.

Freezing Vaporiser isn't as useful in JK than anywhere else (Stop. I've seen the 4 mist bomb video someone posted a few months back. It's doable, yes, but just because you can doesn't mean everyone should). Jelly attacks and spikes don't require them to face you, and you're better off at herding them if the main purpose is to stop them in their tracks. It helps in a party though, but only when only one has the freezer.

@ Gate or Mission: No idea. All I know is Mission you can get 2300cr ~ 3100cr (worst was 2100cr) per 20 mist/ce (skip the boss level)

Bristling Buckler doesn't cost that much

Just as a note, Bristling Buckler (2* version of Barbarous Thorn Shield) is only 10 Frumious Fang tokens from Brinks. So, if you're soloing Shadow of the Beast (doesn't make much difference to speed in my opinion) you would need to do it about 3 (or 4, depending how many times you get 4 tokens) times to get it. I think you can also get 3/4 tokens with 2 people as well... Been a long time since I last did that.

On everything else I agree with Sirenblue.

Don't use freezing vaporizer,

Don't use freezing vaporizer, it's not really necessary and it will just get in the way with all the jellies.

Radiant Sun Shards is still pretty good against the Royal Jelly itself, but Blazebrand works great, and I would recommend Faust when you can get it, since the curse helps greatly. But ever since the nerf, status effects are much less crucial than before.

mission or gate?

mission means speed and more runs, gate means longer getting there and less runs, but you have a bit of (possible) variation. simply as that.

otherwise, change the bomb and the shield. (bristling set will be best if you swap the bomb with a sword)

I would upgrade your iceburst

I would upgrade your iceburst to blizzbrand because it is much better. I used mine in FSC up until I got a FoV, dont bother with your freeze vaporizer not really worth it. Pick whatever you want with a shield because I have the wyvern scale shield and not as many have that but it works well for everything. I never did get into the nightblades, always found that faust was more effective...Dusker is a good choice, upgrade it to ashtail eventually but no first. So a straight answer is to upgrade your iceburst first. I enjoy picking one status to do jk with, for example I could decide lets go all freeze, blizzbrand, freezing vapor mk2, cryo driver and thats all I. Just something fun to do. Add me in game! Get a Barbarous thorn shield...it looks cool and get Skolver set as well you'll have Max dmg bonus. Although you're gonna have trouble in FSC if you're gonna get the Skolver set...ditch the jelly shield

My Royal Jelly Setup

There are two set ups I've formed and like to use and it's not totally set in stone
Poison Power:
Elemental Brandish
Heavy sword
Shadow Gun
Venom Veiler
Deadly Virulisk Set
Piercing Shield

I take a combuster, Gran Faust, and umbra driver. I also sometimes drop the venom Veiler for biohazard. And my piercing shield of choice is the royal jelly shield. The virulisk set is great because it provides a very high damage bonus vs slimed with all weapons. So my umbra and biohazard benefit nicely. And then here's another load out I made since getting the fang of vog.

Burning Jelly:
Fang of Vog
Heavy sword
Biohazard
Magma/Storm Driver
Volcanic Salamander Set
Piercing or fire resist shield

No bomb in this one because I like to use both of my elite sword focus module trinkets. Max sword charging across the board on lvl 10 equips. I take the volcanic plate shield with this set up. Keep in mind volc Sally set is elemental defense so you'll be hit for more but you still get the slime bonus on all weapons and fire resist for fov spam. Vps is great tree absorber but greatly reduced projectile strength.

Anyway that's my setups.

My favorite loadout for Royal

My favorite loadout for Royal Jelly Palace is:

Offense:
- Acheron
- Combuster
- Polaris
- Random Bomb (Ash of Agni, Voltaic Tempest, or Dark Retribution)

I like to equip both a shadow and elemental sword, but you can easily complete Royal Jelly Palace using only a Combuster or Acheron. You don't even need a gun or bomb -- just spam charge attacks everywhere.

Defense:
- Skolver Coat
- Skolver Cap
- Barbarous Thorn Shield

I like using full Skolver and the Barbarous Thorn Shield to get the maximum sword damage bonus.

Replace Polaris by a bomb and

Replace Polaris by a bomb and make your 2 bombs Ash of Agni and VT, and add 2 trinkets (one being bomb CTR med) and then you can consider it the best RJP loadout ever.

But I prefer using sealed swords instead of brandish. That's a question of preference.

There are a few gun puppies

There are a few gun puppies and lumbers that I like to defeat with the Polaris instead of a sword. The Polaris is great for just knocking the lumbers into a corner and taking them down. However, that's just the way I like to handle a few situations; it's not necessary or anything.

Lol it's all preference in my

Lol it's all preference in my opinion once you hit 5 star gear... considering you probably have had a bit of practice and it is not that difficult at all at that point, most likely not even Vanaduke...

For example, personally I would never take anything besides:

Justifier hat
Justifier jacket
Royal jelly

Umbra Driver
Hail Driver
Callahan
Polaris

Unless I feel like messing around with Iron Slug.

.....

I have a load-out which I really enjoy using and allows me to breeze through RJP (as long as I am not dumb), I personally only use 3 weapons, 2 bombs and a sword.

These are:

Venom Vieler
Shivermist Buster
Gran Faust

And the armour/shield I use are:

Vog Cub Helm
Vog Cub Coat
Swiftstrike Buckler

JK usually goes down in just over a minute, probably because I've learnt a strategy I can do well. An elemental weapon for gun puppies is always nice but the Gran Faust can take them down easy :3
This is just my load-out, so far yours is looking good too ^_^

Who kills you?

It helps to notice that, and prepare accordingly. If it's the constructs (Gun Puppies/Lumbers), they do elemental damage. Go for the Owlite shield at least, and Elemental cloak/helm if possible. If it's the slimes, then get the jelly set which protects you from piercing. If it's the RJ himself, or his minis, then go for the cobalt set. It helps to mix them. Also, get an elemental gun. I use the alchemer line (fire, if you ask), but the pulsar (and upgrades) are cool too. Very useful while running away from the scary trees.
