Generally materials are

Generally materials are priced at the value of the knight who needs it. For example, if a knight need 10 blue shards for a recipe, they would pay up to 250(ish) for 10 of them as opposed to a knight who wants to resell the shards or just likes shards for some reason. They would pay maybe 50 for 10 blue shards.

It's hard to nail down an actual price for materials, but there are general price ranges

Look at the AH. If you aren't

Look at the AH. If you aren't beating the buy now prices there, then you need to take advantage of people who are too lazy/stupid to look in the AH.

Anyways, as pointed out, a pricing guide is impossible. Things fluctuate wildly every day. Ghost Bell's used to be worth 2kcr or more. Now they are selling for 1k or less. I used to sell left over wolver caps for ~1.2kcr, sometimes they drop down to 900cr. I've posted mats at the cheapest buy now price and went back less than 24hr later to see that I'm now near the top of the buy now price list.

I once saw someone crying because someone dumped a ton of a certain mat on the AH. He was claiming he ruined the market and now everyone was selling them under their real value. Well, sorry, whatever people are willing to sell/buy them for is their real value and sadly for him, he watched the value drop.

As for UVs, those are harder to nail down. I have a Wolver Cap Elemental High that I want to sell for 2kce. Not a bad price honestly. Eventually I'll take the risk and put it on the AH for higher than 2kce (in cr) so after I lose my 10% I'll get what I'm asking for. Considering I've seen those caps go for more than 2kCE on the AH I'm not too worried that it won't sell.

difficult...

That's rather difficult to make a basic price guide. If you look at an actual global market, you will see prices constantly changing. Any attempt to nail down a price for one good is rendered obsolete within a few weeks.

For Spiral Knights, the same is generally true, except at a faster rate. I've seen Flourishes go from 1500 cr to 850 cr within two days. In addition, updates can cause dramatic changes in prices. For example, when missions were extended to Vanaduke, the price of recipes like the Barbarous Thorn Shield/blade went from about 30k to over 65k (I think now it's hovering at around 40k, but I haven't checked in a while).

If you want a price for an average item, your best bet is the Auction House. However, if you wan to go into UV's? Well those are a totally different story. I craft Brandishes and Flourishes mainly. A Brandish normally sells for about 1000 crowns. A Brandish with Attack Speed Increase (ASI) low goes for at most around 5000 crowns. A Brandish with ASI med goes for around 50,000 cr. A Brandish with Charge Time Reduction (CTR) med goes for well over 75,000 cr. However a Brandish with +dam vs Beast High only goes for like 8k on a good day.

I personally don't know the value of most UV's, and tend to ask some of my friends who really know the market.

>A Brandish with ASI med goes

>A Brandish with ASI med goes for around 50,000 cr

In the few days I have been watching the auction house, I have seen this item ranging from 13k to 60k.
So yes, the market is not very transparent and is hugely variable in time.
