Turning off full inspect hides your prestige points, but not that badges you get from them.
I'd love the ability to hide the symbols. I like collecting prestige, but not bragging about it... I also like my name better without the badge attached to it. ^_^
personally I think it'd make it harder for 'pros' to beg around the place like I see some do sometimes...

I'm kind of neutral on this, too. I guess if prestige points are hidden when full inspect is off, it makes sense to hide the other indicator of how many prestige points you have. :P
Alternatively, they could just add a separate option that lets you show/hide it?
I vote for keeping them there to spite veterans pretending to be new. Their subjects will wonder why a beggar has a badge.
Not too worried about incognito pros begging - even with full inspect off, you can see their rank if you inspect them regardless of how much prestige they have. Besides, there are plenty of rich/"pro" players who don't bother with prestige, and it's not that hard to have high-ish prestige without being filthy rich (not that that excuses begging.)
Prestige is a poor indicator of wealth, but rank is a bit more indicative.
Being able to hide your prestige badge if you want to is a good idea, though I'm ambivolent to how important it might be to be able to. I like being able to see at a glance who around haven is collecting prestige, and it doesn't mean that much that I see a reason to hide it aside from the aesthetics if you don't like it on your name.
Maybe a "Hide/Show Prestige Badges" toggle in the menu?
I'd agree to an option that allows you to see/unsee prestige badges instead of hiding your own, i.e. you won't see them if you don't want to, but they're there to see for everyone else.
Although, regarding my previous comment about 'unseeing', I'm pretty sure that's not possible.
This is a good idea, that really doesn't take away from anything. Honestly, I was a bit surprised when reading the title, because I thought this was the original implementation.
(Not to mention I've been off SK for months, just recently scraping up 3k Prestige, and this would be a much less embarrassing excuse for not having a badge! ;D )
What about an option to turn off your prestige AND turn off everyone's prestige? Y'know, for those like Hadn.
... I do approve of this idea since there are quite some beggars trying to ask me for things because they see my badge there. It's kinda annoying that I can't be incognito :<
Yes! I'd rather not have a goofy symbol all the time.
