I have recently got into trading on this game and i am starting with a low amount of money (7kcr + 130CE). I have discovered that crafting weapons can be very profitable especially if they have a nice UV.
I have the recipies for quite a few 1 , 2 and 3* weapons but which would be the most proiftable becasue afterall, noone want a [crappy] 1* sword with +dam vs gremlins low do they.
I have heard that brandishes are good because then people transfer the uv up the line till they have there amazing ASI High Glacius
Best weapon for crafting UV's
Don't bother rolling for UVs on any item with no 5*, people won't want it.
Damage bonuses are almost always worthless but you can make them more valuable by picking an item with multiple paths.
For example, all flourishes are piercing, so if you get VERY HIGH VS slime it's worthless
Hovever, if you roll VERY HIGH vs slime on a brandish you can just make it into a nightblade and have an amazing weapon.
Ones that go all the way to 5-star make the most sense, of course, but I think the reason Brandishes are one of the most highly recommended for this purpose is twofold: On one hand, their alchemy family is very popular, which maximises the chance that you will find an interested buyer for a useful UV and makes it easier to find buyers for the ones that don't get UVs. On the other hand, no matter what UV type you get, a Brandish can upgrade into something that can make good use of it. Your shiny new Piercing sword with a Construct bonus illustrates why the Brandish is valued as a safe investment: a Piercing weapon suffers so much against Constructs that no UV will make it worth using against them except to push them out of your face, to which most people won't want to dedicate a weapon with no other significant effect, so the damage UV is generally considered useless. With a brandish, you get minimal chance of that kind of misfortune.
The charge attack is very useful, so CTR won't be a waste like it would on, say, a Magnus. Brandishes fork into two damage type options, so any single monster family bonus is fine too. (though I've seen at least a few people talking about bonuses to neutral damage as if they were wasteful, while others covet the same exact bonus to a Calibur's Normal damage) The only way I can see for you to get a UV that is not of a useful type (as opposed to "level") is if you have bonuses vs. monster families resistant to both damage types covered by the possible upgrades, but your chances of doing that are comfortably low. (unless you start Punching for doubles or triples instead of Crafting, but that would be silly)
Any popular weapon that has a charge attack worth using (and goes up to 5-star, in case I have to repeat that) and is either Normal-type damage or forks into two of the three other types should be a similarly good investment, and of course alchemy lines that start lower are more cost-effective. If I were looking to get into the UV crafting business, I'd get recipes for Brandish, Calibur, and Blast Bomb first. Get expert opinions, though, because I have not yet been looking into this stuff and could be missing something important like a super-popular, "must-have" endgame armor & trinket combo maxing out CTR, DMG and/or ASI. Speaking of that, I don't know which armor and shields are most coveted by buyers looking for UVs, so cannot offer even "take with a grain of salt" suggestions there.
trying to make money while crafting is generally a bad idea unless it is a secondary account that is only crafting on mist. Maybe you'll get lucky and craft something great, but otherwise you are just taking away from your mist energy and CE and you won't be able to actually play the game. The UV rate is ~10% and then 90% of those are going to be something low and useless. Low UVs make minimal amounts of money. If you are buying CE to craft it is generally a losing proposition.
You can run the RJP have fun and make more CR with that 50 energy.
otherwise, my opinion is to just craft stuff you are interested in and sell anything that doesn't have a UV you really want to keep. For a while I was crafting Wolver Caps and I sold quite a few for a lot of CE, but I stopped after I bought a Shock High and traded one of my crafts for a pierce high.
just crafted a Flourish +dam low gremlin + construct
