First, how did we get new ranks before we crashed?

Next, What was our role in the universe? Pioneers? Heroes for Hire? Peacekeeper? What did we do?

Now, What where the Morai, and what were they doing on Ilsola? Rebels? Criminals? A group of Dictators?

Is Ilsola a Planet, Colony,City, the knights main homeworld? Or is it somthing else?

Did Trojans come into existance before knights came or after?

Speaking of Trojans, I didn't understand the silent legion's point in the origin of the trojans. Can some one point it out what I missed?

Is the Skylark the only hub for knights, or were there others? f there were other space crafts and planets, do they think we are dead and Cradle not existing on their map or database?

Can some one explain?

I can explain a few of your

I can explain a few of your questions:

1- Some trojans are knights (yes, us), and the other trojans might be almirian knights.

2- The knights had a ranking system before, altought it wasn't implemented in the game.

3- There are probaly other Large spaceships made by the spiral knights, but they can't come to rescue us due to the magnetic field, bringing more spaceships would only have the same result as the skylark.

Now i have some questions to you:

1- what morai means?

2-what llsola means?

-_-

I'm guessing Morai(as mentioned in "The pioneers"), are a race that the knights battled pre crash.

I'm guessing along with our weapons, most of the knight records on ranking dissapeared. Or that our knight was jsut recuited.

Cookies

They baked cookies all day, every day.

A cookie fell to Cradle, and all the really smart ones jumped after it.

Then we were attacked, and we realized cookies couldn't defend us. We threw them into the Core, and the Core became so enhanced by our cookies it was turned into pure energy.

After that, we forgot how to make cookies and just learned how to hit stuff.

True story.

Next, What was our role in the universe? Pioneers? Heroes for Hire? Peacekeeper? What did we do?: No evidence to support any of those theories

Now, What where the Morai, and what were they doing on Ilsola? Rebels? Criminals? A group of Dictators?: What are Morai and Ilsola? We are probably some kind of scouts looking for life on other planets or something

Is Ilsola a Planet, Colony,City, the knights main homeworld? Or is it somthing else?: What is Ilsola?

Did Trojans come into existance before knights came or after?: Trojan are corrupted versions of knights, could be Almirian or Spiral.

Speaking of Trojans, I didn't understand the silent legion's point in the origin of the trojans. Can some one point it out what I missed? I don't remember that mission

Is the Skylark the only hub for knights, or were there others? if there were other space crafts and planets, do they think we are dead and Cradle not existing on their map or database?: The Skylark is their spaceship, I'm assuming they have a home planet, it would be quite weird if we evolved on a spaceship.

Garlic, thanks for that recap.

See "The Pioneers" Mission and read Kora's description of Ecullid.

Slient Leagion is the lv with the former Guardian Arkus.

I mean, Fighting a war with another group(Morai) as well as how they scanned cradle originally. That's my evidence. See the GW artifact and the pioneers mission.

The Rawrcake, I think I know,

The Olwites were a race of owl like creatures that were scholars. They read anchient texts and practiced in magic. Despite being a peaceful race, they were involved in a war with the Kats before Becoming Spookats. The Kats used the owlite's magics to kill all the Owlites. The Owlites are either exinct or endangered. We don't even know where their spirits are.

However, the Kats were killed using the magic and became the Spookats.

The silent legion wasn't

The silent legion wasn't really meant to explain trojans, it was just themed that way, since the guardian armour Arkus wears is based on Trojans (And that he seemed to have been corrupted by the swarm trying to turn him into one). Though, if I had to make a guess, I would say that when a knight dies, their soul is corrupted by the swarm and they become trojans. Though the fact that Arkus seemed to be in the process of being corrupted while still alive may hint the swarm is becoming much more powerful.

Might-Be answers

Ok,about the morai and issola thingy...i think i have a conclusion.
In one of the wikis about Ecuclid the squad leader, it said he was in the liberation of issola.
So, most probarly, there was this SK planet and SKs lived there.
However, one of the cities, Iisola, decided to liberate from the spiral order and become independent. These 'rebels' were known as morais( Most probarly they were SKs too)
Eculid had a lot of succesful assaults on the morai...
HOwever, due to some reasons, the morai was able to attack the capital of the planet and was under seigh.
The most possible conclusion is that the 'Leader of SK' ordered captain ozlo to take about half the knights on the planet aboard a ship known as the Skylark.
The leader send them to find a new planet for them to evacuate to( i think ), as they were lossing to the MOrais.
Due to advanced tech of the spiral order, the ship was able to cross galaxies( it most probarly had an warp engine).
After traveling from empty galaxies to another, they finally discovered cradle.
Since cradle was mechanical like and germilins build it, they probarly created an ' anti ship' defence beam and shot the skylark.
The escape pods were lucky as they got shot off before the skylark crashed.
thnx
P.S This is only a conclussion, it might not be 100 percent correct, so please dont write dumb comments to say that my conclusion is stupid...

I'm going to take a shot at answering these in my own way.

First, how did we get new ranks before we crashed?: I'm pretty sure that we would have some kind of ranking system. Probably a lot like ours now. Knights just had to earn ranks in a different way.

Next, What was our role in the universe? Pioneers? Heroes for Hire? Peacekeeper? What did we do?: According to Spore, we are Knights. (Go figure)

Now, What where the Morai, and what were they doing on Ilsola? Rebels? Criminals? A group of Dictators?: Humans! So all of the above.

Is Ilsola a Planet, Colony,City, the knights main homeworld? Or is it somthing else?: I'm pretty sure it was the home world.

Did Trojans come into existance before knights came or after?: They came before as Almirians, they came after us corrupted Knights.

Speaking of Trojans, I didn't understand the silent legion's point in the origin of the trojans. Can some one point it out what I missed?: It's an interesting mission, but more focused on Arkus than the Trojans so I'm not entirely sure. Most likely, powerful Knights who are driven to madness end up as Trojans.

Is the Skylark the only hub for knights, or were there others? f there were other space crafts and planets, do they think we are dead and Cradle not existing on their map or database?: I get a feeling that the Skylark may have been the main ship of the Spiral Order. I'm sure there were plenty of other smaller ships though. And we are most likely dead to them...

All of these answers are just shots in the dark coming from how I see the story. So don't take anything too seriously.

By son of necromancy, this is 2 years old....

But.....I like what we can pull out of SK's scattered lore so.......
Q:First, how did we get new ranks before we crashed?
A:I assumed we can move up the military ladder depending on which group you get put in by how good you were as Vanguard is a rank that Alpha Squad Leader Euclid had before the impact.

Q:Next, What was our role in the universe? Pioneers? Heroes for Hire? Peacekeeper? What did we do?
A:As Bamzalot puts it, we are knights

Q:Now, What where the Morai, and what were they doing on Isora? Rebels? Criminals? A group of Dictators?
A:Some kind of group that really don't like knights

Q:Is Isora a Planet, Colony,City, the knights main homeworld? Or is it something else?
A: Isora is a planet we knights called "home"

Q:Did Trojans come into existence before knights came or after?
A;Yes as the emblem of Ur didn't come from nowhere, there is an organized group of Trojans (The legion of Ur) that are trapped in the underworld's "prison" for being too awesomely powerful.

Q:Speaking of Trojans, I didn't understand the silent legion's point in the origin of the trojans. Can some one point it out what I missed?
A:Somehow our humanoid bodies are capable of becoming Trojanized. How exactly? We don't really know but a good place to start with is a giant crystal somehow being impaled into one's back that slowly sucks away at one's soul and sanity. My theory is that the crystal bridges the soul of an imprisoned trojan to the host and it slowly transforms the host and eats away at it's host soul or trade places with them so the host's soul can be tortured for eternity. Arkus' strong soul managed to deny the trojan's soul and managed to somehow slowdown/halt the transformation process but it didn't stop the sanity loss. The other method would probably be to directly summon a trojan which probably took waaaayyyyy more effort.

Q;Is the Skylark the only hub for knights, or were there others? f there were other space crafts and planets, do they think we are dead and Cradle not existing on their map or database?
A;I think we rode one of the larger scouting/harvester ships as we were originally looking for a source of immense energy.

O hey, this thread again.

Prolly through skill and acts of valor on the battlefield and whatever. However you normally gain rank in the military. We start off as recruits in the game because either we really are new recruits that happened to be on the wrong ship at the wrong time, or because they lost all the records of almost everyone's ranks cause of the crash. The description of the Deadly Dark Matter Bomb says that the Spiral Order's safety handbook thing was lost in the crash, so it would make sense that a lot of other records and documents and high-level veteran gear would've been lost too. Besides, I don't think that they would pack a ship searching for a source of energy to save their civilization full of millions of recruits with only a few experienced officers and stuff.

Or maybe we were expendable so they sent us recruits on a mission that may or may not have ended with us all dieing.

We were explorers, warriors, soldiers, scientists, civilians, ect ect. Basically, just a normal alien civilization that happened to be at [inter]galactic war with some guys called the Morai. I'm thinking we may have had a sorta military-based society, considering the size of our war with the Morai (we are almost extinct or something!)

Not clear who the Morai are, other than that we were fighting them in a war. I have my own theories as to who they are, but I'll keep them to myself. Now, we know they utilize some sorta thing called Typhoon Fire; Kora talks about some Morai thingy called Typhoon Fire Cannons in some mission. I like to think that they harvest stars to use for their Typhoon Fire weaponry. TF could either be some cool name for some special weapon, or it could be a name for what their weapons are all based on. Spiral Knight tech and weaponry seems to be energy-based; perhaps the Morai's weapons are Typhoon Fire based.

I'm fairly certain Isora and Ilsola are 2 different places, not one place that people tend to misspell a lot. Isora seems to be the home planet of the Spiral Knights, while Ilsola was some city/planet/ect that the Knights fought a large battle with the Morai over, the Liberation of Ilsola (see The Pioneers).

There seem to be 2 types of Trojans. There are those that are 'corrupted' Knights and Almirians and other dudes, and then there are those who are Fiends native to the Underworld. If you read the description for the Crest of Ur, it talks about an army that conquered the Underworld and the 'clomping of hooves,' theoretically the clomping of Trojan hooves. These guys are most likely native Trojans, since the stuff happened like long before the SK arrived on Cradle.

Yet there is also the issue of Lost Souls and Trojan statues. In the mission Blades of the Fallen, it seems that whenever a Lost Soul enters a stone Trojan statue, it becomes a real Trojan. So perhaps some Trojans are simply inanimate statues until Lost Souls use them as a vessel to interact with the world. Or to hide, if you take into account the Apocrea stuff. Harvester was trying to nomnomnom all those souls, so maybe they were trying to hide in Trojan statues and/or use them to try to fight Harvester off?

The Trojan crystals may or may not be some form of Dark Matter. Fiends have plenty of experience using it, seeing what they did to the Tortodrones. Stuff someone's back full of Dark Matter and watch as they slowly turn into hulking killing machines.

If they have one space ship, they probably have more. No one ever has only 1 spaceship. Also, if you take into account the fact that they were at such a huge war with the Morai that they needed some new source of energy to save their people or whatever it says in that prologue thing, they probably needed a lot of that energy to power their spaceships and weaponry.

The Skylark may have been a battle cruiser, or it may have been a scout-type ship or something, since it was sent to find said new energy stuff. If a scout ship can hold several million Knights on it, think about how much a full-sized battle cruiser could hold. But then how could we be almost extinct, if we have sooo many people on ships.

Skylark was prolly a full-size battle cruiser.

Most of your questions seem to have been answered by others, but the one you asked about ranks fits into a theory I've been toying with that seems to fit the evidence, so I'll toss it out there.

I don't think that the ranks we get as we progress further and further through the game are what we think of as "ranks" in the traditional sense. Those ranks clearly exist, as we meet knights who have ranks like lieutenant, yet we never reach a rank that lines up with that command structure (like corporal or sergeant). Instead, we get ranks like "defender" or "champion" and "vanguard." There are only two explanations I can think of that would address that. A) the spiral order's chain of command is completely different from that of Earth based military forces (despite the fact that characters of a given rank act exactly as people of that rank act in real military forces), or B) the player "ranks" are used to convey something different than their position in the chain of command. I believe that second option is the real answer. Specifically, I believe that the ranks we achieve serve the same purpose in-universe as they do out-universe, to indicate the relative combat ability of a given knight, rather than his authority within the order. Think about it, the spiral wardens don't let you deep into the clockworks until you reach a rank that indicates you have the skills and gear to handle it. Barrus isn't authorizing your promotion, he's authorizing your certification.

The Morai

The Morai are a separatist group of knights who are determined to remain free of the grasp of the Spiral Order and any sign of total control over a group is seen as aggression. They believe that a disgraceful free knight is better than a content slave.

I'd still call it a necro, its a year old and hasn't been interacted with since, not everyone puts their dead threads in the graveyard.

If not a necro then a Kong awaited bump, but I'm more leaning towards the former as he posted this exact comment on a different thread, able it a little more recent.
