I just created a page named styles.css under my Userspace, and it seems to automatically behave differently as a Stylesheet page, as opposed to a normal page (note the .css at the end).
:O!
This makes we wonder: does this allow us to use CSS on the SK wiki? (That is, given it is permissible to do; though it would probably be disabled if this weren't the case.) I don't want to be dabbling with any dark arts, so to speak, and so I thought it would be best to ask first. If anyone (especially a GM) can confirm usage of CSS on the SK wiki, that would be awesome. :)
So far I've been using Templates as more-or-less chunks of formatting code, meant to go inside of the "style" attribute of various tags. This method allows the use of params, meaning we can style things by passing in our own values. This is unlike CSS, which is more of a static method of styling. However, the upside of CSS is that it provides some useful tricks not available (at least to my knowledge) with Templates (e.g. selectors). For example, changing the colors and decorations of links as a whole (e.g. changing the style of every link in a div or span tag), not just individually. If anyone has any workarounds for this, please let me know!
Any information and/or confirmation would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! =)
I believe you may be able to customize your own css for your own wiki viewing. However, the general look & feel of the wiki as a whole for the main namespace & other official type articles will continue to be standardized.
If there is a specific css change that you would like to request that would be of use to the wiki as a whole, feel free to ask about it.
