You'll still beenfit from some UVs or trinkets if thats what you're asking, but you wont feel a significative difference.
We dont have a solid answer simply because this is something kinda hard to test. But the wiki does have a short sentence about this.
" The highest status resistance that can be displayed in the character's defensive summary is eight points. However, tests suggest that resistance above eight points is meaningful; it is simply not displayed."
