Lets say if I have a shadowblade(or any weapon with 2 dmg types) and I attack a gun puppy. Would only the normal dmg of the weapon damage the puppy or both dmg types?

Obviously both.

Why would you even ask this question?

When an enemy is neutral to a damage type, it treats that damage as normal damage.

No, it doesn't. It still treats it as shadow damage, just with no critical damage multiplier on it, hence blue numbers. Normal damage is a separate damage type with no mobs that are weak to or resist it, thus it always shows blue numbers.

Say the weapon has 50 normal damage and 50 shadow.

To neutral targets, no bonus applied, it's a basic 50+50= 100 total damage
To slimes/gremlins, normal part is still 50, shadow gets buffed to lets say 65. 50+65= 115 damage dealt
To undeads/fiends, normal is still 50, shadow gets decreased to 10. 50+10= 60 damage dealt

Numbers are not accurate but you get the idea.
