I recently crafted a new Cutter w/ UV Damage Bonus vs Fiend: Very High and curious as to what the consensus is as to which blade I should forge this UV into: Hunting Blade line or Vile Striker line?
Might use, or might sell final blade. I already have a Vile Striker w/ attack speed increased: medium.
I agree, a vile striker would give you a sword with status + bonus dmg rather than just two unrelated dmg bonuses. I cant' remember seeing many beasts around fiends?
Vile striker, period. Poison lowers the target's defense and attack power, on top of making them incapable of healing. So your vile striker will more often than not do far more damage than the hunting blade would, even on wolvers.
Hunting Blades are for people that are more concerned with aesthetics than they are for DPS and overall effectiveness. Vile Striker, until something changes, is the superior sword. Even (ironically) against beasts, if what I've read of the effectiveness of the poison is true.
To be fair, the hunting blade will always do more damage to beasts. The vile striker will only do more damage if you poison a beast.
But beasts are not the most prevalent monster type in the game. They're actually under represented. We need lioners or something. >3
Maybe with the advent of a beast boss it would make more sense to make the hunting blade.
You got better chances of selling it if you leave it as a cutter.
You might get paid a little less, but if you get more offers that might not matter.
Let me be the first to say... I've been trying to find that particular UV for a while. So if you decide to sell it, hit me up. (But if you craft it down the Vile Striker path, I will no longer want it).
