When I first heard of spiral knights I was like "Oh look my newest addiction!" I read up about it and I was leaning towards thinking that exploring a plannet would involve drilling downwards towards materials. I was wrong but I am pleased with the feel and atmosphere of this game. But I was anticiapating some sort of repurposed drill as a weapon.
I know what you are thinking and yes I love gurren lagann. Hearing the words Spiral Knight make me think of epic space battles spanning the space between galaxies with superweapons powered by shear badassery. I'm not going to suggest wild kind of things that would make this game based upon anime references like some other games *cough*GetAmped2*cough*. But I would like to see a weapon based upon piercing damage. Also I find that if it were lance shaped it would fit in with the whole knight theme.
It would be a sword with a three part slash-slash-stab attack. The stab involves the drill spinning. The charge attack would have the knight step back and then thrust forward. This would change with level.
The first level of the weapon's charge would stab forward as if with a lance, as it levels up there would be multiple stabs while the lance glows. This of course deals piercing damage.
I'll try to draw it up and come up with a name. Any comments would be appreciated. Also, ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH!!
we did have a thread about added a lance class of weapons, that would differ from swords though because it would be just lunge type attacks (maybe with some backward thrusts as well), so the damage would be longer ranged but narrower, leaving you open to attacks from most directions. i do like the idea of a drill type weapon for that attack model, or even if they implemented it with the patten you described. so, what i mean to say is, cool idea.
