Considering the last promo was a lot of 34 items of lackluster accessories that you had to pay $10 for each one was pretty bad. But to top that so soon by giving lock boxes for every $10 you spend. An item you get normally get if you play the game, BUT making them spend an extra 750CE to get the key to unlock it. Wow... I'm somewhat looking forward to see if you can top this one in terms of ***ty ideas.
I'm not angry, just disappointed...
The new lockboxes also drop from the prize wheel, or so I hear. It's like a lockbox, except with different stuff. The buyable part is another P2P shortcut, not saying that to offend P2Pers, I just mean that as 'they can pay to get it faster if they want'.
So nothing new really, just that you can pay for the shortcut.
I only play for a couple of hours a day, I'm bummed that the sane thing to do would be to prioritize upgrading my gear to actually play the game, and that leaves no time or crowns for new customization stuff.
Playing after FSC farming was nerfed and without reaping the benefits of multiple crystal energy market crashes makes the crown grind feel unbearable. Taunting me with accessory slot stuff and customization stuff I realistically will never be able to use bums me out.
There was the x-mas promo, which caused the CE price to plummet dramatically via going too far in the opposite direction.
And then when FSC crown drop rate was practically doubled, the CE price skyrocketed, nearly to 8k if I'm not mistaken.
Give them a few updates, OOO will eventually find the ideal balance point between the two. Be thankful for the lag reduction and stop grumbling over a few small promos. Personally I think the Sonic Promo was worse than the Anniversary One, which was one expensive, meh, costume and an extra pair of tails. At least the anniversary promo introduced a random character and some mildly amusing levels.
The Mirrored lockboxes are more of a way to get the new height/eye stuff introduced to the public, more than a promo. Them being linked to $10 purchases is just to give Mirrored Lockboxes a quick little boost, so that they, and their contents, begin to match the prices of the normal lockboxes/accessories.
I guess theres people in this game with way too many crowns who need a reason to spend them.
For everyone else.... I guess we all go back to farming JK for beans? What do us cool noobs do to make crowns again?
