I'm just making a quick thread to ask how rare mirror lockboxes are compared to regular ones. Has anyone got any from the prize wheel yet?

I wouldn't be surprised if OOO forgot to actually make them available through the wheel.

Time to grind FSC some more...

Also tested those waters: I dove through all of T3 on Copper Bishop three or four times, but never saw one on the wheel (while there were Iron Lockboxes on the roulette after almost every depth). I did, however, see one go by during a run through Sovereign Slime, so they are on there. They just seem to be that rare.

I've seen it on the prize wheel twice so far. Managed to get it on one of them.

I gotta admit, I kinda liked lockboxes not dropping during missions. Gave us a reason to run arcade instead of endless KOA or SS or V&V. And made the lockboxes themselves a nice windfall.

I can see why OOO did it, since they don't get the monies if people aren't buying the silver keys...but darn.

Take a look at this.

They're not rare. I'm pretty sure that they have the same drop rate as Iron Lockboxes. But still, you're asking for one specific item from a large wheel of prizes. Realistically thinking, you may or may not get it the first few spins, but eventually you or someone in your party WILL get it. Tons of players play the game every day, and there's a great chance of mirrored boxes dropping as the wheel is being constantly spun by many, many different players. So every day, the supply grows, the demand is being weakened, and prices are dropping like rocks.

What makes you think that the wheel isn't just an illusion anyways?

I'm sure it just picks a random number when you step on the elevator and the graphics are just there for the appearance.

Jaerin's comment is mostly

Jaerin's comment is mostly correct, in that you can see if the wheel awards you a vial during the split second between the elevator "walls" going up and the prize screen appearing. Not sure if this applies to every prize, but the wheel does seem to be there for show.

That being said, I rather like it.

Joe and Jaerin are correct.

Joe and Jaerin are correct. The wheel animation is actually just an animation and your prize is awarded the instant you hop on the elevator and the gates go up. If you pay attention to your crown count, you can see it change just before it disappears (if the wheel is going to award you a crown prize.)

You cant know if you were one

You cant know if you were one off from getting thing on prize wheel or you were far away from it. Prize wheel is just fancy looking thing teasing you there. It contains one item that you will get (determined propably when you step on elevator) and the prize wheel will stop on that certain item. All other items on prize wheel are propably random stuff.

To make the point:

I got 50cr after entering the elevator before the wheel spun. Guess what I won.

Edit: no, I only got it once.
