Why DO the wolver line get Piercing defence.
What I mean is that's their weakness..
I'm not implying that we should add damage weakness to our armors but...
Shouldn't they GET Elemental defence/resist rather..?

This also goes to the Chroma/Virulisk/ And their relatives.

lols. Engrish much? ._.

You ask why the wolver line does not get pierce defence, then say that they shouldn't have it...I'm confused.

The Virulisk Suit is also Beast and has piercing defence FYI.

@Severage: You knew exactly what he meant. Why drag it out?

And he's right. Realistically, neither beast nor jelly armors should get piercing defense. Actually, realistically, nothing should protect as well or better against piercing than normal damage, since piercing is pretty much the same thing as cutting but with more force per unit area.

Obviously something has to have piercing def though.... Why they those the ones they did -- I don't know. Maybe they have steel plating underneath, or some kind of sci-fi energy...repulsion shield thing. I don't know.

Well ...

Perhaps the armor names are more a reference to what they're used for, rather than what they're made of. Wolver and Chromalisk armors resist piercing not because of their base material, but because they're designed for beast hunters. And what better way to show you're a hunter than wearing the skins of the hunted?

its obviously for camouflage. there is a better way to ambush a group of wolves than being wearing an armor to look like them?

Here

@Amaki: Wolver coat description...
"A thick garment to protect your hide, made from a Wolver who failed to protect his."
Obviously it's made from a wolver

Chroma suit description:
"A suit crafted from the hide of a chromalisk. Surprisingly, chromalisks seem to find the existence of these armors flattering."
And also the Chroma line is made from Chroma hide.

@ Jimbo Probably they have

@ Jimbo

Probably they have Steel plating underneath... but thing is it may be light so It should have little piercing defense.
Since if it will be heavy, then they should remove the plate set since that's their purpose :l

@Garlicveggie
You do have a point, but still... I don't get it why we're wearing their hide supposed to makes us protected from it when they have the same type of attack as their defense...

Or maybe I'm just not letting go of my point of view >.>

Not that simple.

The Wolver and Chromalisk lines are originally composed of Wolver and Chromalisk hide, but it's easy to consider they may have been modified, treated, or added to. It seems unlikely the armor is simply the hide nailed to an ordinary set of clothing. In other words, I was saying what Garlicveggie kindly repeated for me.

Of course the whole system is rather silly, if you ask me. Someone at Spiral HQ has an ironic sense of humor.

@Malsvirbranea

A shield made of jello is not going to protect you from a rapier. Slimes are resistant to piercing because they lack what makes it so deadly to anything else: blood and organs. Pierce somebody's kidney with a sword and they'll bleed to death in moments. Pierce a gelatin cube with a toothpick and you've made a little hole, but compare what that does with cutting it with a knife.

...at least, that's what I've always figured.
