The gatekeeper has closed The Way. What's the password?

This morning the game was fine, I could log into the game, do stuff, and log out. However today, I came home from work unable to get past the login screen with the following notice (after entering my password):
"Either there is a temporary network outage or the server is not yet fully operational. Please wait a moment before reconnecting."
Anyone know what's causing this and/or how to bypass it? This problem is only for this program.
Well... Uh... disregard this message I guess? Not exactly sure why this happened, since I know other people were in the game at the same time as I was having troubles, but it spontaneously decided it wanted to work. /shrug
Still interested as to the reasoning behind it, in order to prevent it from happening again.
