I have been very active in BN since its release, remaining on the leader boards for most of the time when people actually play, while playing at most 1 hour a day on it.

Anyway, here's my info:

You say skill, yes I agree, but for us people who play with a troll one bar connection more or less die like a split second before the explosions even reach us. It's really the same as getting killed by a 3 square long flourish poke in LD, except in LD you can avoid it easily. In BN, you idea hide behind and still die or you walk past where the explosions are and still die.

...Apart from the reason that those with horrible latency fail BN hard, you have to admit... LD's somewhat more fun. In T3 it's kinda crazy, people 2 shot by GF and polaris spam and stuff like that. Try some of the lower tiers, but you may or may not destroy them anyhow :V

And you get rare hats (bombhead masks) in LD too. Less chance or something, but w/e :p

you act disrespectful about lockdown so all credibility is lost.

I can't guarantee playtimes, but I need tokens and I've barely played LD and I can only enjoy it in small doses.

If knowing the others are doing the same, I'll sign up for BN more to help revive it!
I enjoy BN most often, it's always fun when I don't get soul-crushing lag (which I hope is better since the graphical update...)

I miss playing BN with lots of random people.

I disappeared for half a year and when I came back, Lockdown had come out of nowhere and BN FFA's were down to like ~16 people at a time.

BN games would constantly keep getting delayed (lack of players) and me winning FFA's would make people stop playing it.

I don't mind the smaller playerbase for BN. It means that I can (almost always) join in a 2v2 team match, which is my favourite type of match

I seriously crafted wolver gear just to wear it in BN.

But anyway, I'm available almost anytime between 11:00pm MST and about 4am.

Actually, after playing lockdown, I'd say the lag (latency) is the same, either way.

Playing Blast Network like a bauss in the past (especially predicting and trapping people in close range), I knew that if I saw me running "in the same tile" as the other person, they were actually ahead of me on the server, meaning if they placed a bomb, I would get trapped behind it and 'snap backwards'. Knowing about this also greatly helps when doing "impossible" dodges (like when you're in the corner of the map and are surrounded by linked bombs, you dodge into the first one's blast before the other one explodes).

Playing Lockdown as a hybrid - well, using all weapon types, I found you have to aim guns a bit ahead of people (miss in front of them) in order to really hit them on the server.

But yeah, in BN I'd keep "sending messages" to the server to make sure that I saw where I really was (ex: if I'm hiding behind a block, I will push towards it just to make sure I'm not accidentally half-peeking out).

I just want to play FFA BN. I miss playing random people instead of the same guys over and over again.

@Seiran you have to adjust your skill level to other players and they will keep playing. I learned that real quick, I would have games that I would go 30-0 and no one would reque. So I started playing just enough to win and lose on purpose every 3-4 games, that way they keep playing and know they can win.

Also, I try to help new players learn and help them improve their skill level. I like to think of it as investing in BN for the future.

If a new player comes in the game and gets killed 10+ times for 3 games straight and has someone "loling @ him and calling him a noob" you better believe that player will never come back to BN.

So general advice, be nice to noobes and don't win my a mile cause that is bad for the game overall publicity.

When I first started playing Blast Network, this Skelly dude named E̢̨̛Ŗ͜͠Ŗ̧̕O҉̛R̸̛͘ kept calling me a noob and raging. Since I was in fact nooby I got killed a lot and almost quit Blast Network altogether after losing an Iron Bombhead prize.

Nice people like Vtmoon and Beary were kind enough to show mercy on me until I got decent at it.

this game is an action game. the reason why BN isnt popular is because it just dosent fit into SK. sure its more balanced but it brings nothing new to the table, its just a shameless bomberman clone ( not saying bomberman is bad it isnt). Since its a clone it has to be better than the original which it sadly isnt IMO. another problem is that people came to play spiralknights not bomberman if they want online bomberman theyd play something like OMGpop not SK. lastly and the major problem is lag the game is practically unplayable when you have lag. with all that bein said good luck with youre efforts.

I played BN last night for the first time since accidentally getting into a match before I knew how to play it after seeing this thread. It was fun, though I felt noobish. :D

Well BN games are much more based on skill than any other part of Spiral Knights gameplay, but sadly in practice 9 out of 10 players have enough lag in the game that they are at a major disadvantage. I don't know if there is a programming fix for this but it seriously degrades the quality of the game when you lose constantly because you can't see what happens until it's too late.
