Hi im looking for the twisted targe shield recipe, according to the wiki you can buy it from basil but if you go here: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Basil it seems that its not specified which mission you can find it on. Any help please?

Basil is in the clockworks,

Basil is in the clockworks, not in the missions, in the subtowns in each stratum. Also, the recipes you can get when you visit Basil change, so you may have to do a lot of runs in the clockworks to find that specific recipe. Since that recipe is 3*, you need to do tier 2 runs--it's better to pay 200cr to get to tier 2 (or join a friend there) than to play through tier 1. 3* recipies are actually the rarest since the tier 2 Basil is the only one that sells 3* recipes (tier 1 Basil sells 1-2* recipes, tier 2 sells 2, 3, and 4* recipes, and tier 3 sells 4 and 5* recipes). Vatel sells up to 2* recipes, which are not bound, which makes getting 2* recipes useless.

While looking for that recipe, you should keep an eye out for other recipes for boss token items, like recipes for upgrades to the bristling buckler, snarble barb, sealed sword, pulsar, jelly mail etc. You can look at what Brinks sells to see all the lines of boss weapons, or look on the wiki, which also allows you to see the names of the recipes for those items.

One last thing, some 3* recipes that are available at the Hall of Heroes may still be worth something for people who want to craft 3* items using alts. I try to use my alts to craft as much as possible, and 3* is as fas as you can go without the item binding. This may not be very common though.

All the missions' recipes are

All the missions' recipes are listed on that page, none are missing. If the recipe isn't there, it's because it's not sold in a Mission lobby (which is the case for boss-reward items). Also note, every item that has a recipe available from a mission lobby will say so under the Vendors section of it's own page. Search there first rather than digging through the list of mission recipes one by one ;)

Aside from that, go delving in the clockworks and hope Basil has one waiting for you :/

Sure thing! FYI, the reason I put that you should keep an eye out for other recipes is for reselling, if you would want to do that.

Not all recipes are popular

Not all recipes are popular though... better first check the AH and see how much demands are there.

If you don't mind using up a second free account registered in your computer, you can create an additional account, bring it to Haven (IIRC cost you 25 energy), and use that to check AH while your main is near Basil.

About the twisted targe ....

Even when you go down in the clockworks , even the recipe itself is really rare , and it will waste more mist than it is actually worth . its better to buy from the Auction House , even if it costs you a few thousand more crowns .

If everyone did that, the

If everyone did that, the price would go waaaay up. :D

But yes, it's really not worth it unless you are still 2-3*. I actually use one of my alts to do Basil runs since it has some of my extra 2* gear from mist crafting for UVs.

Fancy a Twisted Targe?

@OP: If you send me a Bristling Buckler, I can upgrade it to Twisted Targe for you, for 15,000 crowns (the recipe costs 4,000 crowns, in comparison).

I doubt anyone would pay the unbind cost just for you to craft it
