If you read any of the major/well developed threads you would have a decent idea of how this forum section works. Assuming you are new around here keep in mind your suggestions are available to and will be criticized, analyzed and broken apart to prove issues, flaws, areas for improvement and so forth. There are concepts which have been addressed which have been slaughtered in this forum countless times such as pets, healing weapons, and dual wielding; do not attempt these types of threads. Those are not the only suicide concepts but are the most frequently recycled.

I am not introducing myself on a personal basis but you should know I work on almost every thread which appears around here to ensure the horrible "I want free CE forever" sort of nonsense threads are eliminated and the "I have ideas for realistic content but I need help to develop it" threads are improved. There are far more horrible threads than decent ones so it will seem as though I hate puppies and orphans most of the time because children are easily influenced by their emotions and run to their mommies crying "this meanie on the Internet said my ideas are stupid and I should stop recreating the same thread derpbillion times", to which their mother responds by spanking them with a paddle covered in barbed wire on their bare skin.

By "this forum" I am referring to the Suggestions forum as a whole. By "this thread" you are referring to the single thread we are posting in which currently has no content other than "Is this where I put this stuff? Okay". There is no "post your ideas in my thread because I want it to be here instead of making your own thread". There are three types of users in the Suggestion forum: creators, critics, and fodder/trolls. I would create content myself if I were not distracted by the constant new users who think this forum exists to vomit spam into. There are also many great threads in this forum which I endeavor to assist and refine to make it more appealing to the developers to implement; the more content we make here the less work they have to do, and if we balance it for them it makes their job easier and therefore more convenient. Expect these threads to be eyeball-melting long. The easiest way to identify if a thread is bad is by the length of content given by the original poster, see the example below.

Thread 1:

Title: $whine$CE$free

Original Post:

"We should have free CE forever because Three Rings should and I want it so all of you are stupid and your opinions are worthless but mine is the best so no one but admins respond or go away or I will report you to the police and they will arrest you for breaking the rules oh no I soiled my diaper this is your fault and this sentence is too long."

Reply by a critic:

"This thread has no useful content to anyone, et cetera; insert two paragraph explanation here.

{If this is from me I will normally grade it using my standard rubric.}"

Reply by original poster:

"NO YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO POST YOU ARE NOT ADMIN NOW I AM CALLING THE COPS AND THEY WILL SHOOT YOU DEAD HURRRR NO PUNCTUATION AND ALL CAPITAL LETTERS"

{At this point the thread will be taken over by trolls.}

This is what happens when trolls imitate these kinds of threads. After a week or so you will realize this thread is essentially the same as the previously described.

Thread 2:

Title: New T(#) Boss

Original Post:

"These are my ideas, how the enemies work, some traps and floor layout designs, the entire boss fight in full detail, et cetera.

{Due to the massive amount of detail required for this sort of thread I am giving a quick generic sentence describing what should be here.}"

Reply by a critic:

"Okay, here are things you can fix and what not.

{Again, massive amounts of detail; if this is my response it will sometimes be larger than the original post.}"

Reply by original poster:

"Okay, I will edit errors and not completely change significant details (key details which are vital for the concept)."

Reply by fodder:

"Herp derp +1 hurr."

{These posts are most commonly made by users either unable or unwilling to give real feedback. These posts also help keep the thread on the first page by bumping them from the new post. I advise against this unless the thread is so amazing you would give up bacon for it.}

{The thread continues from here until the original concept is refined well enough that the most recent posts will essentially all imply it has been perfected and balanced. Keep in mind this forum usually does not have an admin reading all threads but they sometimes pop in, even more rarely posting somewhere, and read a few threads. Due to the excessive amounts of horrible threads they may be discouraged from returning, which is why users such as myself fight against the nonsense so the worthwhile content comes into the game.}

Also, there are rules which will be followed. Do not be afraid to report users for misconduct but keep in mind reports go through a real person; they do not go through a machine to be filtered. Admins will act appropriately in response to the misbehavior. If the report is false then you are falsely incriminating another user.

This forum is best to participate in after substantial experience in the game to ensure you are competent in what you are working on. I look forward to reading creative content from you and all users and helping it grow but I am not your babysitter; there are other users willing and able to help and contribute as well as criticize and deconstruct. Never attack users for doing so unless they are trolling you; if you claim one thing and they claim something completely different and irrelevant, call them out on it. Always back up your posts with fact and never base it on emotion. "Three Rings should give everyone infinite energy forever because it would make people happy" is not a real sentence. If you are not able to take criticism well I recommend taking a back seat; everyone is free to read all threads but do not post if you are merely going to reply "+1" or "this sucks because I hate it and durr".

Yes, most of my posts are long; it allows me to pick out those who skim through it and think they know everything. Read all posts in a thread before responding, especially the long ones. I am not trying to make you cry, nor am I saying goodbye; I shall never tell a lie or hurt you.
