550 ce a dollar is a fairly common and agreed upon price for steam games. Almost every person here who sells games or credits ce for games traded to them uses that rate.
also, replied to you in game
This is strange. Why would someone agree to lose 1250 CE?
Randomzz, if you write, this means that you sell at the very rate you declare, I would like to buy from you 2x Dead Space & 2x Dead Space 2, this means 11k ce total.
That one's easy to answer, he's buying games, not selling.
You sell games for pure profit, sell games with the intent of buying games back and have some extra left, at least that's what I see from the thread that sells games plus the thread that buys tf2 items, I assume you have a tf2 items for games thread at some tf2 forums. The ones that give a fair rate are the ones that sell games because they do want the ce. Mind you 550ce is already profit for them since it beats the energy depot except during heavy promotions (and during those times you will be damned to find a 550ce/$ seller for that reason). You don't see it as profit because you are constrained by the ce to refined rates I suppose, but that's your problem not everyone else's.
ambrogio, try to find rhipdclxvi. should have dead space 1 and 2 in stock already.
Plus, your way is more complicated. I'm lazy. And besides, you assume everyone here plays tf2. Believe it or not, some people don't like it that much. And people like me are at college, where we have a 3GB download limit a day. TF2 is something like 10 GB, so even if I wanted to play it that would mean sacrificing 3-4 days of internet.
I'm fine with just ce. I make a lot more money doing this thing called having a job than trying to resell items on the internet. Oh, and since you asked, yes I do sell at that rate. But I also have a policy of not selling to resellers, which you appear to be. So... maybe you just need to learn a game's market before commenting ;)
Yes, it's right, I sell for profit. My prices are all public, nothing to hide here.
However, let's say that someone wants ce because he needs it to craft/buy items in game/wathever ( who are, all who sell me the refs ).
Still, with the route I described, you get 800 CE/$ to spend in game.
For example, in the last trade I sold 3240 CE for 9 refined.
Now, I don't know how he got those, but if he bough it with cash, for example at 0.5$ each, he would have spent 4,5 $ total.
This means, he got 720 CE for each dollar he spent.
Even if he uses it in game to craft, he still got 765 CE more in total to spend, which is 30% more than the 500 CE rate
If we kick in bigger trades, like 200 refined, bulk prices comes in, for example 0.37 $ each ref.
At this point, with 74$, you get 72.000 CE instead of 40.700 CE. Just the 30kce difference is enough to buy an ultimate-uv item.
Even if you don't want to profit, having 30kce more to spend in game for a nice item is a nice addon, isn't it?
However, I am seriously interested in buying games @ 550 CE/$, right now I have 18kce and I won't mind spending 11k for the games
EDIT:
Randomzz answer came in while I was writing
Actually there is no need to play tf2, you don't even need to have it installed, just unlocked, and this can be done via web. I don't play it since november, I just idle once in a while to get the drops, and this is optional for the route I wrote.
Yes, you can say that it is more complicated, but once you get used to it, it's easy.
I never heard of a steam gift sold with reselling policy, and this makes me think that 550 ce is not a "real" price, otherwise you would not be afraid of resellers ( because they can't compete with the 550 ce that you offer at the source ).
Well, I guess you are not the only one around selling games, I'll do some research here :)
Ah, I see your point now, I suppose it goes to not wanting the trouble of learning that market just to do one or two trades. Also, there are WAY more scammers out there, by keeping within this game you cut almost all the chances of a scam.
It's not a steam policy, it's my own. I don't like people who buy things cheap and then resell it for profit. For instance, it appears that you can buy the game at 550 ce/dollar from me, then sell it for a net profit of about 250.
However, I did overlook the fact that's less profitable for you than just buying the steam game and selling it for 550. I'm tired, it's almost finals, my brain doesn't work xD
But yes, many people who sell their games use a 550 rate. Most have a current stock, I welcome you to find them and get whatever you want. If you want I will make a small apology and say I was a little rash before, and I will sell specific items to you myself as I simply buy on demand and don't carry stock.
Either way, have a nice day, have fun in SK haha
@ Giannii:
Yes, these are good points. I for example sell most tf2 items at cheaper-than-market value, because I don't want to waste time in trade servers. Scamming too is a problem (avoidable, but it takes effort).
With these points in mind, 550 CE/$ is a fair price for both parties
@ Randomzz
So, would you sell me the games in the end? I won't sell them here on sk - after all, you'll be always cheaper and I don't need to compete - it's not even guaranteed that I sell them so I can end up with a lose.
If you want, when I'm on I'm in my EFL group chat: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/dando-real-ita-efl
Maybe we can start a nice co-op
Have a nice day/night you too!
Good luck.
1) You can't directly resell CE for cash.
2) The only way is via TF2 market:
1 Refined = 360 CE
1 Refined = 0.45$
=> CE reselling value is 800 CE / 1 $
Now, if someone wants to achieve a minimal profit for the time spent, like 10 cents for each dollar, it's at least 900 CE / 1 $
By the way, this is also true as a cheap way to buy CE:
Buy refined @ 0.45$ each ( sourceop )
Sell refined @ 360 ce ( here )
Total: you get 800 CE for each 1 $ spent
So, my question is, why someone would spend 5$ to get 2750 ce, when he can easily get 4000 ce?
