3rings!

Have you login and look at lockdown tier3 gvg lately?
Yes, no one is playing except a few uber guilds with maxed out uvs and a ton of money to ce revive.
Of course, you love this idea - more ce sink means more profit for you.
However, even those uber guilds will get bored eventually looking for someone to challenge.

So, give us something to level the playing fields.
I'm not talking about teir 1 or tier 2, let's make tier 3 vanilla!

In tier 3 vanilla, you get the following;

- no ce revive
- no trinkets
- no uvs
- no auto target

Option to create custom matches with another guild with a date (day and hour).
Allow lobby with password enabled for private matches.

I fully support this idea 110%.

This way we can see who truly has skill and who is buying wins and being propped up by their ASI VH gear.

I do admit i use auto aim and ill miss that...and my trinkets, but you have an idea here. It truly shows great skill in a player.

Even if you remove UVs, there still will be lack of variety, as all players will use skolver, FF, GF, etc, and those "uber" guilds will still get bored.

And why only tier3? if its going to get implemented, why not all tiers? You probably havnt played much T1/2 LD, but all the rocket hammers in there makes it very unfair, much more than T3. At least in T3 you got lots of armor (ie. Vog, bomber sets, etc) to give you weapon boosts, and elemental dmg.

Even if they did give you vanilla LD, same problem will still arise, as people will quickly find the best no UV no triket no auto target loadout (im guessing bombz + polaris + recon cloak, or just plain old toothpicking) and use these loadouts to dominate LD.

As far as skills is concerned, toothpicking (as much as i hate to say it) does require some skills to do it properly. Obviously not as much as gunning, but still some.

Although I support the idea of no auto target, overall, its probably too much work for OOO to implement, and its probably not worth their time.

I like the idea of the GVG planning ahead, password to the lobby ETC. That portion is great, but I dont really think the removal of UV's and trinkets will make much of a difference overall. I enjoy lockdown, and enjoyed playing against you guys last night. Hopefully, the guilds who arent quite as "elite" can find ways to play each other, and improve. In another thread, a ranking based system was also suggested, which i think would bode well in conjunction with your idea.

I suggest we move this to the suggestion forum, and see where it goes.

First of all, I agree with Kive, what da heck do people have against auto-target? It's like saying "Everyone makes houses with hammers! Thus, only the really good people can make houses by punching the nails into the wood with their bare hands! Yeah! Anyone using a hammer is a stupid weakling and must be laughed out of town!" Auto-target is a tool the game gives you, not an aimbot that you illegally download.

Second, in my decent amount of experience in GvG, there are far less people with "maxed out uvs and a ton of money to ce revive" than it appears. Most of the people that do CE rev, rev until the cost is around 8, maybe 16 if there is something at risk (cough cough pride). That's about 6-14 energy spent per game. If a game goes on for a while, then you notice fewer and fewer people CE reviving. Of course there is always a few exceptions, but even people like Ruby rarely go beyond 32/64. Albeit this kinda goes out the window when a rare Bombhead Mask pops up. Also, a few VT drops can still screw over the majority of players in GvG; Staggering Storm screws over even more. Most of the people in GvG are people who ENJOY playing LD and go to great lengths to get good gear and actually be GOOD at the game (Before you say people who pay real life money don't work hard, take a moment to think about how they got that money...). GLD is a league above normal pubs.

However, I do like the idea of private/scheduled matches.

If you want OOO to give an option to remove CE revives, you're going to need to suggest a mechanism to act as a sink in place of it. I had the idea of perhaps allowing guilds to wager CE on GvG (with OOO recieving a cut) and allowing custom options for the match such as disabling CE revives. My problem with CE reviving is not so much that it favours those with more resources, but that it defeats the purpose of having a spawn timer as seen in every other multiplayer game that does not operate on one life per round. The whole idea of having a spawn timer is so that the player who neutralized their opponent is able to proceed with the main objective. Can you imagine how ridiculous some other games would be like if players could respawn instantly?

I'm not opposed to a vanilla version of lockdown even though I have UVs as I think it would be fun to play everyone on equal footing (no crutches, but also no excuses for losing). The reason I acquired UVs myself is to be at less of a disadvantage against people who have the best UVs. However it wouldn't be fun to have the UVs you worked hard for suddenly lose much of their value. Also on a practical note, removing heart pendants from Tier 3 lockdown would cause everyone to die in 2-3 hits instead of 4-6, making fights extremely flukey and without suspense. If heart pendants were to be removed, then health should be increased to compensate.

Also why is this in general instead of suggestion?

And why only T3? Trinkets make mess also in T1 and T2? Or maybe you just play T3 and you posted this suggestions just to please your needs?

Even if there will be vanilia lockdown like this, whinners and crybabies will start making threads 'omg he uses xxx weapons, everyone use xxx weapons, pwease make vanillia^2 lockdown with premade equipment'

The idea is noble, bring balance to lockdown, unfurtunatly it changes very easily to personal agenda driving by greed and selfishness.

No offense but LD blows, I have a bad connection and am dead before I am even hit. There needs to be an alternative to GvG or random team, setting up your own games would be really fun and more people might actually play for more than a game or two.
