I think that there are some folks talking about the implications UV-locking has on the metagame (and the UV arms race in LD), and sure, I don't want to discount those.
But this is amazing for PvE. Do I need better UVs to do what I want to do in the Clockworks? Not really. Would it be nice to have more defenses on my Mad Bomber gear? Absolutely (because BLESS quicksilvers.) Could I try for an ASI on my Gran Faust without losing my existing lucky CTR craft UV? For sure!
This is a great thing for players like me who aren't concerned with being the very best, but wouldn't mind being a bit more powered, or even catching up with the leaders of the pack.
I've already seen CE go down, so the crown sink is working. I've seen a few monster pockets, and they're adorable. I might get a mewkat one on one of my alternative costumes, not sure yet.
I know that whenever a new update rolls out, people get upset. Sometimes it's justified! But this is a good thing, I think.

there is nothing inherently wrong with this patch, I think people are just hoping for new levels to play/guildhall upgrades etc... Some of the richer players are upset about the UV lock, but I see that as a good crown sink, and a great way to stabilize CE. I feel for my friends who feel slighted on this one, but overall i think it's a good thing.

I agree, although I'd love some other things to come, at least soon, I still like the update, I might roll UV's now :3 Well when I stop saving for something.... It's a secret :3

Anyone noticed that Pets seller will stay here untill April 30th, 2012 and then it will be gone (it may appear in future but who will forbid OOO to just skip this part...)
Its just temporary. After that, pets will become just another expensive accesory that will be reselled and make rich even richier

guys
If you specialize in one weapon class (which most people do, since it's a little easier to focus on developing skills for one type of weapon than becoming a hybrid) then you can get every offensive stat (ASI, CTR, DMG) to at least Very High on any of the 3 weapon types with only armor and trinkets. I honestly don't know how this UV lock screwed the rich guys over, because at most you only need a Medium UV to max out anything lol.

From what I gather, they're upset that their rare items aren't going to be as rare anymore.
One side of it is pride.
The other side is the 'rich get richer' issue: crafting/rolling high UV's (especially with 2-3 UV) is one way to make supercash. If they lose this income, they won't be able to make as much money *gasp*.
