does anyone know how to appropriately fight the flying animal butterflies. there really a pian, and all i know is to just attack them right when they notice me.
Flying!
You need to be a good fencer. It's all about timing & preciseness. Unless you are a gunner then you are screwed. Lots of shield bumping is what I do. Stunning Flourish FTW!
INESCAPABLE DEATH!
CORNERED BY A TROJAN!
ohh so mostly flourish is effective against them. arghh, im saying this post because i face a hord of them at the last level of tier 2 mission. they were all ice type. i had a fire flourish (flameberge) and had blizzbreaker armor and blizz shield but i still got surrounded and died. the silkwings surounded me all sides and were shooting ice projectiles after each attack they aimed at me. i just couldnt see a way oout of there.
P.S i died at the end.
After the search bar, SpiralKnightsWiki and "New Recruits."
Use anything with a wide range of damage that can be used reliably and quickly. Heavy swords, Flourish-type weapons, quick and mobile bombs, etc.

try getting some decent armor. blizzbreaker line? really? that doesn't even go past 3* IIRC. Not to mention greavers deal shadow damage, which none of the breakers protect against. get actually good armor and you can survive a lot longer
Face them without fear and smash their faces.
Don't try to block their attacks, you'll only get covered in status dust and surrounded by more grievers.
Greavers are one of the most annoying enemies in the game if you don't know that they're easily interrupted. Any sword that is not Shadow damage will work; Avengers and Pulsars interrupt just as well as a Needler or Flourish, and I always liked heavy swords against Greavers.
Greavers only need to be poked on the shoulder to interrupt their swoop, so shielding might not be the best course of action. Remember to take it slow, and watch out for any Devilite projectiles that may be flying at your head. Beware, later tier Greavers will spread status dust after an attack.
Im watching you, just to let you know...
@Blandaxt Are you sure it was a tier 2 mission? Greavers only shoot projectiles in tier 3. If it's a tier 3 mission, you seriously need armor with shadow defense. As far as I know, greavers deal only shadow damage in tier 3, so your Blizzbreak armor won't protect you against their attacks at all. You could also try boosting your sword attack bonus enough to kill them in one or two hits, but that might be too risky for you.
@Zyborg very true, but there is a slight chance those projectiles are shot by a Chilling Howlitzer (if there is one in that mission)other than that, I don't know
If you mean the bat like GREAVERS, look it up on search.
