Volcanic Salamander and Arcane Salamander make no sense, because they offer slime/beast bonuses but no piercing protection.
Deadly Virulisk, on the other hand, offers slime bonus and piercing protection. Someone who uses multiple weapon types (sword, gun, bomb) in a slime-heavy area might make good use of that setup. But that is a very specific armor, so only a very advanced player should consider it; it's a low priority compared to other armors.
Weapon bonuses are for players that prioritize one type of weapon as their main damage dealer.
Monster bonuses are for areas wherein large amounts of the same monster family are prevalent.
Yeah, unless you specialize in one specific weapon type, lines like chroma aren't terrible providing you can find enough enemies of that type. for example, Royal Jelly Palace.

soo... should we hope that this line should get some buff or a special incentive that would make us choose this over the sword/gun/bomb damage specific armors, or just forget about this line forever and save some energy?
There is none. Unless you like the look of it.
A lot of armors are plain underpowered in this game.
Well, except if you want to do slime and beast with several weapon types.
