I've been gone for a while, but I tried to spend this time on something constructive, that is completely useless. Recently I've grown fascinated with using 3ds Max to animate Spiral Knights models. But it never happened because they're all .dat files a mortal such as me cannot decompile without eons of painful error and trial. I've herd something about an exporter I think...?
I tried digging through walls of Clyde's programming black magic on GitHub which led me to a terrible headache and lack of sleep. What I already tried is:
- 3D Ripper DX
- Changing the .dats to every possible model extension
- Bashing my head against the keyboard
- Google (You'd be surprised how common my problem is on Facepunch)
I refrained from making my own models, as thanks to my lack of skill the effect of my painful work would look somehow like Minecraft on 'shrooms.
This is exacly my problem here. If there is any way of exporting those model files into 3ds Max, Maya, etc. I'd be more than overjoyed.
I don't know jack shirt about models but...
I just had a possibly insane and dangerous idea for your next video.
Watch it up to the chorus and you'll get the idea.
