I have both Antigua and Prismatech MK II and I can't decide which one I should upgrade first. Which one has a higher dps?
The Antigua line used to suck when it had split damage, but I don't have a clue of its effectiveness now...

Well...

The silversix and AP are very good in the FSC, though if you aim the the prisma driver right it has a higher DPS. I would recommend the Silversix, as it is easier to use, and has the undead bonus for FSC.

For a side-arm, AP for the ease of use.

For a gunslinger, Prisma Driver for maximal damage output with ricochets.

I myself use nova driver in

I myself use nova driver in FSC, it is very handy because if u aim to the side of an enemy and release a charge shot it does around maybe 1.3k dmg. AP is just as good as nova but charge isn't do good. I would have to say nova driver, but that's my opinion

Nova driver is better for me

Nova driver is better for me in FSC. It has higher dps if you know where to hit and it actually has higher mobility than argent. You can shoot, pause, run away then continue while the movement is slow when you are using argent peacemaker due to the continuous shooting.

i never really understood why

i never really understood why the AP is better as a side arm than a nova. just learn to use the nova, it's not hard...

but back on topic:
against groups, nova definitely has more dps. for single target dps, if you know how to do the trick shot consistently, the nova line does more. if you just want an easy gun to use and has good dps, go for AP.

personal preference plays a huge role here since both guns are quite different.

Alright, I guess I'll go for Nova then. I've been using the prismatech for quite some time now... I'd be a shame to abandon it.
Thank you guys.

AP Sidearm

@Somenubcake:

AP is a better sidearm because it's easier to quickly pull it out, fire a few shots/chip damage, and then return to another weapon.

Most of the time, if you are constantly swapping between a gun and sword (I don't mean like using a Polaris for turrets, but like using a FF and Callahan to deal with fiends/beasts), you will do a sword combo, use the gun for a bit of scratch damage, and then return to the sword. When using an AP, you can easily spray a few shots between sword swipes (I use this to hit zombies who are breathing), while the Alchemers give you only one shot. If you do two, you reload, while most likely still within melee range. If you miss, the shot is completely wasted.
