I'm just saying, I don't like getting random trade request from other players begging for crowns. I sometimes ask them why and they say "You have freakin 5*! That's amazing! You must be so rich!" and I go ._. Why do all the non 4* and 5* think people with 5* are rich? These days, I barely save up more than 30k due to crafting or working on my other character. This is why I usually have a 2* combat costume.
All the 0*-3* people think 5* people are rich?
ive gooten total of
10 friend requests when i was in a guild called My Little Ponies saying "I WANNA JOIN YOUR GUILD" or "I LIKE PONIES TOO"
7 friend requests asking for money
2 friend requests asking for trading thier wolver set for my strange machina of TF2 (which is the most lowest offer ever)
1 friend request asking for my armor set (snarbolax cap, coat, sniped stranger hat, DA CTRVH GF ASIVH BTB ASIVH etc)
i feel the pain
this is probs cos they are like "WHOA U PLAY LONG TIME???????????????????"
and then they try to get stuff and stuff etc
best thing to do is ignore them
... before getting their 5* stuff. Seriously, that's a whole lot of virtual income disposed of into semi-fixed assets. A full complement of 5* equipment is essentially a walking bank from all the crowns and CE it costs.
Sometimes, I get reported for not giving 100k to some 2* guy...... I really wish people will just do the hard work and get their own crowns and 5*
It's become such a transparent thing to automatically close all random trade requests & delete all random friend requests I've gotten.
i'm 4*, and that never happened to me...
how am i different!?
Hi Mczeno you just friended me in game. It was done the way a friend request should be done. We had a fun little conversation followed by a friend request :D
My favorite (and i get this a lot) is, "Oh i heard you are rich'--->friend request. Um...yeah...why in the world would i add someone who does that? "Hey pawn, add me as a friend so i'll get a notification everytime you log and i can ask you for stuff!!!". Go away.
Im a 5* now and I realize Im not rich by money but Im rich in knowledge. I now know how to get money easily and effectively for all my wants. So in a way we are rich
I often like to give back and help the circle of new players. I think of it as a person getting famous you have to give back to the community. I often give people crowns or items to 2 or 1* players or just simply help by giving them advice
Kidness drives more kindness, I remember the first person who tabbed me I was so overwhelmed by that 5* kindness I often tab people when I have spare mist. The one thing I am aginst is players thinking you have a fountian of money and will harrass you for money then make a fit if you dont give them the money. either just remember we were all rookies at one point
i never begged for a single crown in my life!
that is the answer every begger gets from me, and i send them on their way (and then you see the chat filling with "goddamn beggers!!!" haha)
and yes this is anoying... i even have a noob loadout i use to run around haven (a 2 and 3* cobalt, and some random weapons with a free trinket just to look a bit more noobish haha)
Kive, I'm going to say that for now on.
"I'm not rich in money, but I'm rich in knowledge."
then i will follow it up with this.
"Lesson one, if you want friends... stop asking them for money you lazy begger."
Then i will say
"sorry for calling you a lazy begger I realize it's really hard work to get to 5 star while being f2p."
then i will say...
"stop begging."
and then I will smile to myself and be like... cool story bro.
There are certain people in this world who will try to profit from others with no work. With the anonymity of the internet, these people manifest themselves 10x over from what you'd see in real life.
I don't think I've met a single player worth being around that begs, or has begged.
Do you know what begging does?
IT EATS YOUR SOUL.
My favourite thing to do when they trade me is actually put all my CE and 300-500k crowns into the trade.
And they go all, "omg ty!!".
...
Then cancel the trade.
The knee-slap kicks in when they get upset that you juked them.
When people beg, just give them one crown and tell them to not spend it all in one place. They tend to leave you alone afterwards.
@coatl
I do the same
I hate when they come spam trades in ur face and they say "ur rich gimmee monay" then I do what coatl does & quit and that gives them a major Spazz attack.
The one time I did ask for CE, it was for a vog cub coat so i could help my team more on a Vanaduke run. I also paid back on that exact run.
However, I have never considered asking for crowns/CE in any other circumstance :P , as i never want to be "one of those people".
Especially because I'm mostly 5* now :P
@Coatl
I will try out your idea sometime, seems like a fun thing to do
Spam trade... you do know that if you leave the trade request up there the first time they can't resend another one? I just leave the request up there a while and ignore them or something.
Its same as with beggars next to shops/supermarkets. They see you do shopping, they think you have money so they come and beg for you, but they give a damn that you worked hard whole month for this money you spent in shop, or maybe its your first bigger shopping in last 3 months.
Same with beggars in SK, they see someone with 5* they think he is rich so they beg, but they dont give a damn that you might finally ,after weeks of saving CE, just few minutes ago crafted your 5* gear and spent all your savings on it.
It's all the hype that money can buy.
"after months of saving CE, just few minutes ago crafted your 5* gear and spent all your savings on it."
Fixed for me.
But Soul. I thought you were rich q.q YOU LIED!!?!?!?
*cough* That aside, thankfully I don't get many people coming up to me begging for crowns :D Probably because most of my time in Haven is spent in 1* gear waiting for a LD match but Psshhh... Details. Although I do always wear my Cheese helm, so I'm surprised, a little, either way I will not complain!
But yeah, never begged, never going to give to a beggar. Somebody wants my advise, or wants a little help doing a run, no problem I shall be their genie and grant their wish, but to just ask flat out for crowns. No.
~The Mighty Cheese Knight; WeeGee
just today i got some more requests "gief crowns or i report u" which is pretty annoying
also who loves getting friend requests which say "i love u" "ur great" and so on without any reason and they dont even know you?
I do that to! :D
Then I just sit down, and they actually try to kiss up to me and get on my nice side. Its pretty interesting to read actually, and be and my friends around me are usually lulzing in private chat. XD
I'm 4/5* mixed. The trick to avoiding n00b beggars? 2* costumes or /ignore
also who loves getting friend requests which say "i love u" "ur great" and so on without any reason and they dont even know you?
I don't even get that. D: My random friend requests are always blank.
I got the Divine Stranger hat for only 5K....... Im not really rich unless I feel like saving up for a chapeu or scissor blade.
i never dress up in a 2* costume or something like that, and beggars still don't beg me for stuff...
Costume is useless now... they check prestige bars and rank. Which is a double-edged sword, as I've caught some Knight-Elites begging.
There are also the random guild invites.
IMO guilds that invite just about anybody (regardless of gear level) are just... trash. There has to be some standards your guild members must meet. Otherwise that guild is no better than PUGs, nothing more than a friend list filled with people always begging to be dragged along on a boss run, begging for stuff and doing all kinds of selfish acts.
I'll do this once a month, usually mid month, and make people guess a random number in my head, or the name of somthing, or some random trivia, and then give about 10K if they get it right.
I tell all the noobs this too, but usually, most of the vets get the winnings, because they just rock like that. But it's kept people off of me, knowing they had a fair chance. (and yes, i always pay out)
Tune in to haven 1 every 15th of the month for a chance to win!!!
@Evilnut I doubt real beggers bother. They wouldn't really have played long enough to know about prestige and all that.
In any case, I only get bothered over my helmet. My appearance just looks so plain and simple, I guess they think there's no WAY I can be 5*, at a glance.
If they notice my shield, that's a different matter.

But seerusly, I only get bothered about my helmet. Newbs are always asking where I got it and stuff.
I guess shiny stuff really DOES attract attention.
I loved that spiralbomhead mask.... Too bad my divine stranger hat replaced it.
I HAVE run into beggars, some more polite than others, some of them ludicrous. I give when I can, and honestly... I'm probably one of the poorest members in Unity. I've given minor things when noobs say they need like 1k crowns. If I can, I'll give. If i can't, I won't. To the annoying beggars who trade for ABSOLUTELY no reason, I just hit the hide button and walk away. Honestly I don't mind beggars, only if they do not demand much after all, as somebody said we were all nooblets once. I encourage hard work towards a goal and all I have to say to the newbies that it's actually okay to ask for help, just don't demand too much. Let me just say to all the beggars out there, end game doesn't feel rewarding unless you get their with your own abilities.
My favorite thing to do is say follow me and run to the training hall and run halfway in just past the line and they always run past. So they're stuck with loading screens and I can leave at my leasure.
The analogy's a poor one. In SK, anyone can wait for their mist to regen, do a run, and make their own crowns. There's no minimum amount of crowns you need to keep yourself alive in the game, either. For that matter, you chose to play the game in the first place, and there are no disastrous consequences if you quit.
Real-life begging is a whole different thing. It would be wise to leave such comparisons out of the discussion.
I have 5* equipment and I'm not rich. I worked months to get where I am now. Along the way I've seen many beggars of low tiers asking me for various things. Usually I follow the saying "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one" and give precious resources. Lately I diverted my resources to make more 5* equipment for myself. My knight has a long way to go till I can do full boss runs solo and be unstoppable in Lockdown.
i got 1 set of 5* armor vog thats it rest of my stuff is 4/5* weapons and 2 shields, and i hardly got any cr or ce it all goes into making stuff or upgrading stuff. i dislike beggers 1: due to attitude 2: for all i know you could be someone who is just lazy person wearing 1* or proto armor and does not wanna sit there and do missions or go down arcade beyond that idk you could be scamming me. i tell them no and go sell their materials they don't need to npc vendors or people who need it or go do a run or something. i mean if i can sit there and inspect you and you can do rise or fall or even jk mission do that stop asking me. also if you don't have mist idk play blast or lockdown, take a break for the game and go outside, take a nap, or even idk watch tv, play skyrim or something else for an hour or so, the game is still going to be there when you come back. that is one thing i find about people in MMOs they do not know when to stop or slow down take a break its not like getting to the end of a game what would be left start over with another knight idk.
Most of the time, when i get begged at, it's in the ATH. I throw fire pots at them (the only way to do damage to knights outside of PVP) and they go away pretty quickly. And, I'm only 3*. I feel sorry for 5* people.
Sometimes I just put on a Vitasuit/Cyclops costume, and you don't ever get beggars. Just don't put on Full Inspect, or a random inspect will show that you're 5*. Big mistake.
If they don't look too closely, they don't even realize that I have a Swiftstrike Buckler. Maybe they mistake it for a Proto Shield.
NB For the fire pot to affect them, it has to hit a wall and they have to be in the blast radius. It only does about 1 pip/pot, but they never come back. Something about trying to kill them shows that you're pretty hacked off.
@Golgomath Don't do that. Once, I /ignored someone who was mouting off at me, and later got put in a PUG with them. Then, he was threatening to kick me. Funny thing was, I was the party leader.
Oh, and about the Swiftstrike Buckler. PM me for one, please send some CE and crowns if possible. The more you send, the faster I send the shield back.
I insult them, make then annoyed(via trick trade and MORE insults and the "why" tactic) 'till they cry/Insult/leave/threaten report.
I feed on their tears.
The only warnnings I got was from the forums.
My basic thoughts via star level
1* ZOMG THIS GAME IS COOL OH LOOK AT DAT COOL ARMOR OMG
2* Basic's down, now to get that AWESOME ARMOR!
3* Man this is hard, I wonder how those 5*s did it?
4* Is it me or is it being high level mean less money?
5* WHERE IS MY MONEY. I NEED TO CRAFT SOME SHINY SHOES (but my owlite set looks neat)
I've had countless beggars after me though none of them got mad or threatened me after I didn't give them stuff. Well, that I know of anyway. I always /ignore them if they ask more than once.
On a side note, I found it extremely awkward when a random beggar I /ignored turned up a few months later in full 5* gear with max UVs.
I have a regal wolver costume. I don't normally get beggars, but when I do I just switch havens.
I have about 100 crowns, not even enough for Lockdown. Got asked by a beggar today for 5k crowns. I told them I didn't have that much money, so they started yelling at me.
