A friend told me NOT to join their party due to being in a room full of Devilites. I thought they were exaggerating so I put on my Fiend setup and joined to kill off the little turds... they weren't. Here's the pic of our epic fail.

Lol we revved a few times with different party members, and still went down in a few seconds.

It was pretty impressive actually. There were so many of them on screen it knocked my FPS down from the 40s where it normally sits to 10-15.

Show them who's boss. I soloed this the other day with both hands tied behind my back and with one functioning leg. And there was like 1923 times more devilites on my screen. I had -10 frames per second.

Note that the amount of enemies shown here isn't normal for tier 3, this is probably a bug lol
I'm pretty surprised that this hasn't been fixed yet. Weren't there some people who posted about this problem a week or two ago?

How did that... happen?
When I first glanced at the picture, I thought I was looking at a pair of giant fern-like enemies.
I heard it's some glitch with the game thinking the devilites are dead/gone if they are turned into overtimers, allowing an infinite loop of devilites spawning as they are changed.
That my friends....
Is a brief glimpse at the Core.
The little spawning pads will each spawn 1 Devilite. When that Devilite is no longer there (for most monsters only through death) the pad will spawn another. Having Pit Bosses and Yesmen in the room mean that the Devilite will be upgraded to a Devilite Overtimer (Firebrander Overtimer in this case). After this happens the spawning pad can not detect a Devilte (Firebrander), so it spawns a new one. This will continue on without end (or as long as your CE holds out).
You can have someone on rev, just not up and fighting, and stay there forever.
I was waiting for GM help after sending a request, but I must've called during offline hours or something.

I lol'd. That's crazy. How long did you have to wait with the respawning devilites to get so many? :P
Just thinking about this makes me want to get a Dark Briar Barrage.
i believe Bluescreenofdeath has the right idea, the devilite, once converted to an overtimer is no longer an object being checked by the spawner object to, if not present, be prompted to spawn again. thus allowing there to be a successive additional devilite for every devilite promoted.
Aye, let me explain teh sad tale...
I be going to do the Prestige mission as it were, and almost to the end was I, yet, I puzzled somewhat at the appearance of those infernal circles.
Dismissing the thought, I entered the room, only to be surrounded by acurse'd devilites!
Now, I entered this here stage thinking that the foes that be here be constructs and Gremlins. No shadow defensive armour I had anyway, least had I known, pack my DTB I would have.
In any case, my fall was inevitable, yet swift. I called for teh loyal Nubskills to aid me, yet he fell as well.
Unaware of the impending doom coming upon us, we called yet another friend, and another. Both fell to the clutches of the fiends. (lol!)
By the time we realized, it was too late. The devilites had already spawned beyond our control, and attempts to revive and destroy were futile; we were slaughtered within seconds of our invincibility wearing off.
Eventually, and old enemy came in to haunt us once more: Lag. Stricken down by it, my friends, save for Nubskills, took their leave; they could not face this beast, their systems would not allow it (indeed, one of them had their client crash on them. We were all at the lowest settings)
As we pondered what to do, I decided to call for GM help. Alas, it must have been an off day, for I received no reply. Not even a rejection.
We lay there, my unused health revival the only thing sustaining our stay, when I noticed the entry of Gwenyveir to the realm. Knowing her be the bouncy-helpful type, I begged her NOT to come. She questioned my motives, and I insisted the danger was too great for even her powers.
Alas, t'was a time she decided NOT to heed my warning, for thought of my exaggeration. Donning her fiendish battle gear, she flew into the fray, killing but a few before falling approx 2.6 seconds after the invincibility wore off :P
There we lay, defeated as the army continued to grow in size, ever waiting for the help of the GM's who had yet to respond.
Anywho, I waited about an hour or so. They must've all been off-duty or something; it was like 3AM over there.
Dear OOO, if these good people used any CE for elevator fee/revive, you owe them a refund, because it is all your fault.
I covered all rev costs, save for one 20 energy rev a party member who left incurred, but I cannot be certain it was not mist he used.
However, I spent about 20 or so ce at the MOST, but it doesn't matter much to me.
Not that I'm filthy rich and don't care about money or anything, just that this whole problem started with my inability to deal with devilites, which THEN blew up into a massive Overtimer-fest when I called for help.
I made a thread about this happening to my alt, to say the least it was not a preaty sight. It was only made worse but the fact that 1) i only had 2 weapon slots 2) i decided to bring my valiance and a silent nightblade 3) it was my first time in that bugged room so i had no idea the world of pain i was in for and 4) the only people i knew on that character were the people in my guild and only one person was actualy on at the time. I decided that i was gonna leave the devilites alone and kite around the machine... now when i do this on my main i try to remember to always bring a pierce weapon for that mission. Supprised this has not been fixed yet.

If you looked at the Vault a 2 months or so back, you'd know telling stories is what I do :P

Firstly, because of my game request, I received a reply apologizing that I had indeed called for them at a point not covered by their work schedule (That, or there was a meeting or something, but in any case, I called them when they weren't there.)
It has been identified as a definite bug, and that devilites shouldn't have even BEEN in that stage.
Furthermore, this may come as a disappointment to many of you, but I received word from Aphrodite informing me that this mission has been taken OUT of the Prestige mission cycle until it is fixed.
I posted a thread about this eary after the prestige missions were added to the game, some weeks ago.
I saw someone else post one as well.
Your screenshot definitely wins for awesome here. Too bad it hasn't been fixed, though. The randomness of enemies that can spawn in those rooms is cool, and makes that mission a bit more interesting. Even just removing the bosses would probably fix it.
I've gotten that room (which killed me as well) several slightly more challenging ones with respawning oilers or quicksilvers (which is fun, but you have to kill them fast because the robots spew fire/shock haze,) and on the other end of the spectrum I've gotten two respawning retrodes and robots that quite literally did nothing. They'd open and close and make noises but neither shoot projectiles, heal the other things in the room, or spew status... they just waited to be killed when I wasn't busy dispatching retrodes.
The variation in difficulty on that mission seems to be on a pretty random on a scale of 1-11... Though 11 seems to be more like "ELEVEN!!!!11!!!"
