What is your opinion on some good first Tier 3 items to get?
I Already have a boltbrand and aa mighty defender but gonna get upgraded owlite.
what are some good Tier 3 items?
Also depends on your playstyle. If you like guns and hate bombs, there's no reason for you to be crafting a bunch of bombs if you'll practically never use them, even if all bombers find it to be extremely useful, like the RSS, Nitronome, Shivermist, etc. Your energy would be better spent crafting Alchemers, Antigua-line guns, a Blitz Needle, among others.
You really need to elaborate on what you'd like to do in the end so we can give you suggestions ;)
Swiftstrike Buckler!
Mediocre defense, great AS buff, you will learn to love it :)
Slowly craft every single item in the game at once. Get all of their base items ready, then slowly craft all of them up before starting on the next set.
More realistically, I'd go for nightblade for jelly king, any 5* elemental brandish line (like your shock sword), blitz needle and shivermist buster. For armor, I would make vog, and as a shield I would get Snarbolax.
Standard gear, right there. After that, I'd start getting and crafting more weapons, namely a polaris, an electron vortex and a final flourish+skolver gear for lockdown. And of course, if you have a liking for any particular item that could replace one of the ones I mentioned (except for shiver+blitz), then feel free to choose it.
Item replacements, if you dislike what I've suggested:
For nightblade:
Gran faust (slow sword)
Sentenza (gunner- favoring ASI)
Umbra driver (gunner- favoring charge attacks)
Dark Retribution (if you've got the DLC) (bomber)
Either calibur line (cheaper; goes with FSC eventually)
FoV (Are you a total boss of a T2 player???)
For "any elemental brandish":
Divine Avenger (slow sword)
Dread venom striker/WHB (Vana's mask phase; can still kill slags with it)
Either calibur line (normal damage for vana's mask; normal attack patterns; cheaper)
Rocket Hammer (risky)
Argent peacemaker (gunner)
Valiance (stay alive longer; take longer to kill everything)
Polaris (gunner; annoys party members)
Any elemental alchemer (GREAT if you have CTR, amazing DPS for guns; which one to get? Shock/nova are good for damage in FSC against the slags, cryo is a bit redundant but can be used to kill trojans if you're shivering as well as freeze vanaduke if you need help shivering though its unreliable and by no means a replacement for shiver, and firo is better for jelly king than FSC, although should still be usable as a sort of... underpowered nova)
For vog armor:
Skolver (lockdown much?)
Chaos set (use multiple weapons a lot? good at dodging/using remedies?)
Volcanic salamander (Like jelly king a lot? Feeling incredibly cheap on armor?)
Seerus mask (gunner; if you can get it please do)
Gunner armor (If you're going that route, choose whichever stat you favor. I'd recomend either deadshot if you're mixed, or shadowsun)
For Blitz Needle:
Plague needle (not recommended; but cheaper and decent if you play lockdown a lot)
Pepperbox (Also good for jelly king; people will give you strange looks in FSC, even if it isn't half bad there)
FoV (Make shiver first; kill duke with that 14 times; not easy to use on duke)
For Shiver:
-Voltaic tempest (better for the levels; people will love you for it but you won't be killing the boss with it)
For snarbolax shield:
-Owlite (better for turrets)
-Dread skelly shield (having trouble with FSC before you can afford a crest of almire?)
-Swiftstrike (Use guns/swords at the same time, and never get hit? Like to die? Thats right you do.)
Hope this helps ;)
Definately on playstyle, also how adaptable you are to different gears. Certain ones are better for certain places, and certain combinations work better than others, but usually there is no "best" gear for something as you can do just as well with many other equipment. Pvp is another story though, as most people end up falling under an equipment set/catagory. I'm too lazy to list and find the equips they usually use so... ask someone else for those.
As for equipment combinations, it really depends on how many weapon slots and possibly trinkets you're willing to spend on. I refused to buy slots, so I ended up stuck with only two weapons at a time. Also, what works for me won't necesarily work for you, so you should experiement to see which pieces work well for you. I've found that Sealed Sword was way too slow for me, even though there are a LOT of people out there with it's upgrades.
You'll probably also need specific UV's for some gear to make up for weaknesses, and maybe other gears that strengthen your weapon attributes, such as faster charge/attacks speed/ more damage. Especially important for beginning bombers. Not so much for later ones with 5* since the gears usually make up for the "more important" UV.
Anyhow, below is a list of what I've been using. Not sure if it's anything you'd like, but it's fine if you decide to try it out.
What I've been using were a full bomber set-
Demo suit- 4* head and armor (upgrade)
Freezing Atomizer- 4*
Radiant Sun Shards- 4*
Shield, I have a Wyvern Scale Shield, though you'll probably want something else instead.
You'll probably find that these equips are lacking a bit as they only deal with fiends, constructs and zombies effectively.
I switch off Atomizer and Shards depending on what map I'm at with a different weapon.
Currently I have a Toxic Catalyzer for Jelly King, so I'm mainly using Catalyzer + RSS. I could use Atomizer instead of RSS, but I've liked RSS for its anti-fiend damage as well as how it deals more damage on small groups/ single enemies faster.
For Roarmulus, Atomizer is incredibly useful, but RSS is a poor choice since you can't focus the damage on the boss very well and Atomizer isn't mostly used for dealing damage (actually, it is when I use it to freeze lock + kill constructs). I typically use Sentenza + Atomizer since those are what I have and that's what's been conveinet for me.
Snarb, I use RSS + Hunting Blade. It's what I started out with and it works for me, so I kept with it.
In general, I usually run around with RSS + Sentenza. RSS is probably my main weapon, but since it does weakened damage on fiend and slimes, I tend to switch to Sentenza to finish those off. Basically, I have two weapons that cover each others' weaknesses. And they both happen to be Anti- Healer weapons too, as they kill the enemies that can heal pretty well. :3
Haven't done Firestorm Citadel, so I don't have a set for that yet. I would highly suggest getting some 5* gear before trying that out.
It'll take a lot more time than using specialized equipment of course but shielding a lot and rocking dat cali charge can turn most maps into EZ-Mode.
These are the weapons I use a lot. In each section, they are ordered based on how much I use them (I'm excluding FSC runs, because that makes up most of my runs):
SWORDS:
- Acheron
- Final Flourish
- Glacius
- Divine Avenger
GUNS:
- Argent Peacemaker
- Sentenza
- Nova Driver
- Umbra Driver
- Callahan
- Polaris
- Blitz Needle
BOMBS (I don't use a lot of bombs, they are just my little side projects. I use them mainly in arena-type areas):
- Voltaic Tempest
- Shivermist Buster
- Staggering Storm
As for armor choices, I barely have any armor sets. It's best to get 3 armor sets, one for each damage type. You can get by with just one or two, but it gets difficult. The same thing applies to shields. These are my defensive items, ranked in order I use them:
ARMOR:
- Skolver Set
- Shadowsun Set
- Snarbolax Set
- Nameless Set
- Heavenly Iron Set (Costume most of the time)
SHIELDS:
- Crest of Almire
- Swiftstrike Buckler
- Barbarous Thorn Shield
- Grey Owlite Shield
This is a sort of question with no definite answer. There isn't a 'this weapon triumphs all" weapon in SK. AT the most, you could say the Calibur/Blaster/Blast set is good because they're all rounders i.e not strong/weak to anything.
A 'good gear' is something that will fit your needs. If you take a lot of damage from shadow, get shadow defense. If you end up fighting a lot of Jellies, get shadow damage and piercing defense.
Find what you need and go for that. If you ask other people, you may end up with things you don't like using.
