So this might seem like a noobish question but, lets say I want to craft a striker or something. Do i have to have another extra cutter? Or can i just use the recipe and upgrade the cutter that I already equipped? I'm unable to unequip the cutter right? Since its been bound and all..

Like this: You can upgrade

Like this:

You can upgrade your own bound gear.

You can stop wearing gear that is bound to you.

You can sell bound gear to a vendor.

You cannot give bound gear to another player.

Uhhh

Equipping =/= trading.
Of course you can unequip the cutter.

Yeah, you can unequip your

Yeah, you can unequip your cutter but you can't trade/sell it. That's what bound equipment means. I just crafted a Striker from a Cutter I was equipping today.

You can use your own weapon

You can use your own weapon however the heat level goes back to 1.

The only thing that happens when it is bound is you cannot trade it.

Basically next time you are out of the dungeon and your cutter meets the requirements and you have all the mats and everything is good to go with the crafting it will auto move your cutter into the circle and you can craft striker.

I hope that helps.

One thing worth pointing out,

One thing worth pointing out, it almost never makes sense to vendor gear, especially if it is upgradeable.

You can always upgrade it and then sell/trade the upgraded version. Crafting something "unbinds" it since the newly made item is just that, new. It hasn't been bound to you yet. Alternatively, just hang on to it in case you decide to pick it up again later. We have unlimited inventory space, take advantage of that.

Er, actually, the Proto-gear you crashed with is the exception there. You can't sell that. Sorry, should have mentioned.

oh and yes, you can unequip

stuck with proto gear, life is lame. :( oh well, i've got other stuff that won't be trotting down an alchemical line that i'd just as soon turn into a handful of crowns...

oh and yes, you can unequip bound items. binding it to you just means you can't trade it to other players.

It should also be noted, if

It should also be noted, if you upgrade your cutter to a striker, it becomes unbound again and you can sell it.

feynt, that was the original

feynt, that was the original point. the op just wasn't sure if they could unequip it in order to upgrade it to a striker.
