I know that pets are sold as accessories and are very cute but I feel like it is a waste for them to be something that is just to be looked at. I think that it would be totally awesome if pets could actually aid in battle rather than being a trophy of your wealth. Here is what I'm thinking. You can buy pets first as a baby then level them up with heat. Of course, they will start off not doing anything (for being a baby and all) but eventually help out your knight when they are "older". The thing is, you won't know the pet's ability until after you buy it! Also, the abilities for helping out your knight could be minor such as giving you a heart every 5 minutes or shoot a bullet once in a while. I know this idea is very far fetched but it just sound so awesome to have a mini pet that follows you throughout your adventure and once in a while help you out! Just like binding, you cannot sell your pet at Auction House unless it is unbinded or "not matured at all". I think it's an awesome idea but it might not be so drop some feedback or additional ideas to my crazy one! :D

How bout this

They put in pets as usable items. Only in the clockworks you can use them. Once you use them a random timer that you cannot see or control starts a a number from ten minutes to thirty seconds and everything Inbetween. During that time your pet follows you like a mecha knight. Onc it hits zero the darn thing explodes because of the nitrome in its stomach, hurting everything in range (including knights and yourself). There you go. Have some cheese

Look through those to find people's reactions to it. The general idea is that pets that aid in battle is a definite NO. Most people tend to generally agree with this. My take on this topic.

This has been suggested countless times and shot down for what are now very well-established, valid reasons. I recommend you graveyard this before the rage pours in :/
